We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Le’Nay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to risk taking, I personally have realized most successful people in this world took some sort of terrifying risk during the early stages of their career. I did just that when I decided to step down from my safe, stable, salaried General Manager position in order to pursue client coaching full time. There weren’t enough hours in the day to dedicate to my day jobs, my clients, and my own personal self-care and because of that, I knew I had to take that scary but necessary step in order to move forward in my business and show up as my ‘best self’ for my clients.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Self-love, self-care, and overall wellness, is my main mission. I have a passion and a hunger for leading people far beyond an hour long workout, and to a place where they are focusing on the many facets of mind-body connection combined with total body health. Within my services I offer accountability coaching, nutritional guidance, and physical workout plans/packages. Additionally, my guidance includes coaching principals that dive into spiritual, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral growth and awareness. I truly believe some personal trainers and nutritionists teach clients to adopt unsustainable practices when it comes to diet and workouts. I pride myself of leading my clients towards a total lifestyle change by teaching them ways to train their body without working it to absolute fatigue, and helping them work with recipes that still allow them to re-create their favorite meals and comfort foods! My method of coaching focuses on sustainable change and healthy habit building as opposed to temporary solutions and ‘quick fixes’. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along this journey is to encourage openness and honesty with my clients. I’ve also learned time and time again that any type of lifestyle change starts with our mental wellbeing and overall mindset. I am different from most coaches because I focus on the inner-work first. I teach my clients to work from the inside out. I want the world to know that being healthy and “well” is a lifelong journey- the goal isn’t perfection. I have found a balance in my life that I am so proud of. I listen to my body when I’m craving something or want a break from the gym, and I give myself gratitude and grace every step of the way. One thing I tell my clients every day is to remember to “send gratitude through their bodies’ and to ‘constantly thank their bodies’ for all of the hard work it does for you every day. Our bodies respond to gratitude.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love tapas places like Cook’s and Soldiers and Gypsy Kitchen! I love brining people to spots like that because they can try a variety of foods while enjoying amazing drinks and conversation. I would of course take them to Ponce City Market and the Beltline because it’s such a fun diversity filled area that gives out-of-towners such a good understanding of the overall energy of Atlanta.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out and thank Shannan Monson- a phenomenal business coach and mentor (also a fellow Atlanta native), who guided me through the process of launching a successful coaching business and taught me how to automate my business in order to work smarter and not harder. She’s the co-founder of the CEO School and works hard daily to help ambitious women become leaders in their space of knowledge.
