We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Landwehr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
A principal or saying that matters most to me is “time will promote you or expose you”. To me, this saying applies to morals, work ethic and how true you are to yourself. I try to just focus on the things I can control and have faith that it will all work out, and that saying is one I think about almost daily.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would describe myself as a jack of all trades and master of none at the moment. I currently make a living working in the art department in the film industry building and painting sets and spend most of my other time working on my own ventures. I (Landbear Media) have had a bit of success with photography and videography which are two things I really enjoying doing but in the past few years I’ve really started to like painting the most so I’ve been trying to spend more time working on that. I started painting about 4 years ago when I was going through a tough time and had just quit my job and dropped out of college. At first, painting was just something that allowed me to zone out and pass the time but it started to really grow on me and I just haven’t stopped since. I think sense using a camera and painting helped me get through a hard time I’m very attached to them and the process of creating in general. Its definitely been a grind being a freelance worker doing all these different things but I enjoy them all so I’m just riding the wave for now. Im really excited to keep exploring and learning about photography and painting and hopefully finding a cool intersection for them along the way. Some simple lessons I’ve learned that may help people are- trust your intuition when it comes to creativity and don’t be scared to ask for help! One thing I would want people to know about me and my brand is I do it because I love to create and for now that’s the only goal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
if I was showing a friend around for a week there are only a few things I would make sure to check off the list. – Eat at Victory, El Tesoro, and Atlantas Best Wings.
– Go to a kickboxing class at Vesta Movement.
– Go to a Def House event.
– Drink some beers at The Stratford pub in Decatur.
I know Atlanta has a lot more to offer so I would then drop my friend off with someone else who could really show them around while I hangout at home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are countless people to thank for where I am today but especially my good friends- Dave Crawford @loudand_clear, Drew Hayner @wolfdoglives and one of my best pals Kori Gaines. Dave is an incredible photographer, Drew is an awesome artist and so is Kori Gaines. They have all individually helped me learn and grow but most of all I’m grateful for the confidence I get from just being around them and seeing how they do things. They’re all guys I look up to so its awesome to be able to call them friends. Shoutout those guys! much love.
