We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonna Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonna, how does your business contribute to your community and make a difference to others?
I have Beautiful human beings that I not only Instruct, Employ but also help to Empower them to spread Greatness, positive outlooks and their craft as Industry Professionals. I Coach Actors, Directors, Casting Directors, Producers, Award Winning Writers, Phenomenally Driven individuals who inspire Our Journey. As a FilmMaker and Coach to many here in America, I also have built a successful bridge into Africa, connecting my loyal, driven and kind hearted american crew to my African crew. Right now in Ghana, Africa, my latest international Film “Alisa” is not only Impacting West Africa due to our philanthropy driven collaboration (between my production company Dirt Road Paths Productions and my African industry brother’s company TabletEye Multimedia). My sole mission and efforts that unfold daily is to keep providing opportunities for my African Students to have amazing opportunities in Film (both in Africa and America) and the same for my American students, working overseas and absorbing/being exposed to the cultures, the beauties of the World and to be inspired/Empowered to keep spreading the Beauty of Humanity. Every production I create, Every industry professional I involve myself with is done very selectively and protectively because the well being and lively hood of my students/Industry acquaints deserve the best and honest of relationships, so I do make it my mission to filter through Negative setups or individuals that could tamper with their journey. My work, Our energy and Our Joy within our journey is top priority with my methods of Coaching and Producing!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Coached By Jonna Johnson INC and Dirt Road Paths Productions INC are both for Creatives (or i like to call us ‘Artistic Athletes”)! I’m proud to be surrounded by so many driven, determined and relentless artists! Both my coaching company and my crew for the production company is filled with loyal, long time committed students of mine, who I’m honored to now employee. That is one thing that I stick to, is the support and be supported route. I have been in this industry for 11 yrs Coaching professionally, so my student have been through much of the tough obstacles that simply come with successful triumph, so they deserve top priority in working with me and be paid. Our partnership and empowerment with one one another is recognized and appreciated. I have overcome many obstacles, many No’s, No answer backs and rejections from organizations or individuals that I would like to have my students in front of, or able to network with a more intimate (REAL) setting.. Not just show up to a workshop, get paid and leave without really making an effort to impact them. It has been upsetting to come to terms that (even with paying the $$$ amount) some individuals behind the title just aren’t good intentional people, who want to really see change, uplift and encourage. It’s Just Strictly Buisness. So that’s been the hardest part of my journey in business. Finding individuals that deserve to be inform of dedicated, driven, eager human beings and not have a pedestal held over there heads because they are there, that don’t talk Down to individuals, to build Themselves Up, that have the desire to share their Joy in what they do and how they overcome. There is a such thing as Synergy and I’m an advocate of genuinely providing that for everyone I’m involved with from either site. Actions over Words is what I live by and the foundation of both my companies.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Juicy Crab (the one in Duluth GA) Would go 4 times out of the 7 day week (Wings, Crab Broils and Fired Shrimp) Martin Luther King Jr. National Park and his Birth Place in Atlanta GA Amicalola Falls State Park in Ga My Home

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Ivana Chubbuck is my Mentor and dear Life friend! She is the Author of #1 Actor Book world wide and Los Angeles Times Bestseller “The Power of the Actor” David Goggins – Mentor and Motivational Practitioner is a guru on the connection of the fit body/fit mindset Lastly, Jim Kwik – Mentor and Author of New York Times Bestseller “Limitless” has completely enhanced my ability to overcome learning disabilities such as reading and comprehension with his methods. All of my mentors helped me see clearly (collectively) that it was okay to not be the sharpest tool in the shed with learning and emotional disabilities or confusion, this was not a long term title that I had to settle with, there is reprograming of the mindset, enhancing and regrowing over bad habit and learned negative behaviors that were holding me back. That my past and environment was not my only option… and didn’t have to stay my reality. I decide and I did. I did overcome and still rising!
