We had the good fortune of connecting with Jon Lootz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jon, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The mentality. With the “It Takes A Village” mentality, I aim to produce an eco-system where no one person is put above any other. I am nothing without the village. It takes community to build something really special.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others is my ability and personality in tandem. I have been writing for a long time and I take some pride in my ability. I think the ability to write well in combination with a collaborative personality leads me and others to making a lot of different sounding music that I enjoy. Having more avenues and inspirations adds to my toolset for when I create by myself. I never want to be the best in the room, I always want to be learning.

The one thing I can say has most contributed to my success would be the bridges I built along the way. I give myself credit by way of recognizing the amazing people in my life accepting me for who I am and what I am capable of.

It Takes A Village. I stay grateful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Firs things first we hit up the dispensary and corner store for backwoods to get ourselves situated for the week. Get a couple bottles of red wine cause I f*ck with red wine and then we set up the consoles in the studio. Get some space heaters set up because it’s cold in Canada, then we vibe. Run games, have creatives come through and make stuff while we vibe.

The most fun and exciting thing to do with a group of creative minded people is to create.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think every single person who has had anything to do with my journey is responsible for my success. I want to give a special shout out to BrownGuyMadeIt for sending you guys my way. It means a lot to have friends and peers recognize what you’re working on.

Shout out to every single listener, every person who’s shook my hand, everyone who’s ever taken a moment out of their already busy lives to seek my craft. Im eternally grateful. We’re just getting started.
