We had the good fortune of connecting with Jomo Hill Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jomo, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
In my opinion, giving up has never been an option. I wasn’t raised to give up. I was raised to make things happen and to break through obstacles. If you gave it 110% and it didn’t work than find another route.

What should our readers know about your business?
The name of my company is Keep’N it Tidy. We specialize in Garage cleaning/reorganization and we also haul away debris and trash items. One of our biggest things that makes us stand out in our area is that even though many people haul trash in our area, there isn’t many people who will come into a garage (no matter what condition) and do a complete cleaning, reorganization and haul away anything you can find around the home. I have been building this company for the last 6 years and it has been a very tough journey. One of the toughest phases of my journey was probably in the first couple years in business because i had no idea how i was going to structure my business and made tons of mistakes. I went through alot of employees, a divorce ,I lost my father, injured myself a few times and because i was the business, I had to work through all of the hard times. The reason i never gave up was because of the mindset my mother and father gave me. To never give up, to just find another way and keep going. Now my business is a 2 truck operation, We have a dump truck , a chevy Silverado and 2 trailers for hauling . In the last year my business has grown tremendously ever since my uncle started working with me about 1 year ago . He has a background in construction and has since added light demo to the business as well. We are looking to do about $250k -$300k in the next year in business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve been in Atlanta for almost 9 years now. I haven’t been out a whole lot but i am very adventurous person when i do get out. I would probably take them to stonemountain park to climb the mountain and grab some bikes or roller blades to cruise the belt line of Atlanta. I love to eat middle eastern food and Ameers Mediterranean in Atlanta or Real olive in Lawrenceville Ga. Would be my go to places .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a lot of credit to my mother. I watched my mother go from struggling working 9-5 jobs that paid low wages to brainstorming and starting her first successful business around 2012-2013. That is when me and my siblings life took a turn for the better financially. When this happened it showed me that working for myself was going to be the route i took.
