We had the good fortune of connecting with Jokoria Talton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jokoria, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think  ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your  business?
For many years, I was always considered the party planner and enjoyed  creating custom treats. I would only expose my craft among family and friends.  February 2019, Jkori’s Sweet Treats was born. Jkori’s is originated from my  first name, “Jokoria”. Today, we are launching our new apparel and accessory  line called YummySUGAcollection. Online grand opening coming soon! I would  love to give my customers the experience to satisfy their tastebuds and be  savored in style. The acronym S.U.G.A. is Sweet, Unique, Gorgeous and  Amazing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with  our community?
I’m a full-time Transplant Financial Counselor and own boss to Jkori’s Sweet Treats. At the age of 16, I started my journey in the medical field; which lead  me to become a healthcare professional. I absolutely love what I do. My  biggest challenge is balancing a career and entrepreneurship. I have learned  to prioritize, take care of myself spiritually, mentally and physically. I’m super proud of the person I am today. Huge SHOUTOUT to all my supporters. I’m a  person who puts 100 percent, plus more into everything I do. I create, curate  and design with love & passion. I always make sure to leave behind that,  “Jokoria” imprint.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show  them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little  itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit,  hang out, etc.
Wow! Atlanta, GA is a very diverse city! For a night of culture, we would  explore the many lounges/bars of Edgewood and Auburn Avenue. Definitely  go dine-in at BQE lounge for food, drinks and live music. For a breathtaking  and very diverse atmosphere is Ponce City Market and Krog Street, which is  considered the beltline of Atlanta. The Battery Atlanta and Atlantic Station are great places for entertainment. To enjoy a stroll or jog is Piedmont Park.  There is so much to do here in Atlanta and the list goes on. Atlanta is the new  Hollywood with inspiration of Tyler Perry Studios. Also, the home of Atlanta  Falcons, Atlanta United FC and Atlanta Braves.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes indeed! Her name is Phanesha Jones and owner of Powerful Women  Pray! Her T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and accessories is so inspirational.  The encouraging word that Powerful Women Pray and also Powerful Men  Pray. The moments I feel like giving up, I have to remind myself, “Girl I pray”; which is one the Powerful Women Pray slogans. Please go share and shop at www.powerfulwomenpray.com. Also, tell her I sent you! Another shout out is  to Danielle and owner of VaultbyD. Her accessories hold a special place in my  heart. One of her pieces was named after me and beyond grateful for the  recognition. Please go share and shop at www.vaultbyd.com.
