We had the good fortune of connecting with Joirdan Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joirdan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The term “Risk” has a profound negative connotation. Risk is defined as a situation involving exposure to harm or loss. To understand rewards, is to accept risk. You’re unable to receive one without the other. In some works they are synonymous. So, you ask how do I think about risk? I think risk are the inevitable. If you are someone attempting to chase dreams, execute goals or live any level of a successful life, you are probably a risk taker to some degree. Comfort breeds content, therefore it is important to try out these dynamic risk. It is important to go out on the limb, and put trust in your own abilities.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Nanny Gals LLC is a company I hold very dear to my heart. We are a small business that specializes in childcare. We offer tutoring, date-night babysitting, newly added dog care, pick up/drop off and even custom services for non-traditional clients. Our company motto is, “Naturing creative scholars daily.” While academics are a priority, helping a child be creative is too! Thus, we personally curate activities to things a child may have interest in. For example, if a child wants to be a chef, with the parent’s approval, some nights we will let them help make dinner or even choose what they would like to cook. This type of child-driven activities really does help us positively impact your children’s life, also helping them be confident in their choices and independence. .

The Nanny Gals is a mostly referral-based business, so we typically have most of our clients reach out to us based on a referral from a previous client. This helps both parties build trust and ultimately helps with the parent-nanny relationship. Nonetheless, new clients are always welcomed and encouraged to use our service! We have newly adapted a quick and easy intake process.

Overtime, like most business, there have been some high and low moments. I think it’s important to acknowledge that this is apart of the entrepreneurial journey and when you understand this, you won’t panic. I overcome challenges with this mind set frequently. Things will go wrong, but how will I as a leader, not only set an example, but also implore my team to resolve things efficiently and effectively when faced with similar situations too. The Nanny Gals LLC is coming up on its one year anniversary! The lessons I’ve learned over this past year, were so impactful. One special word of advice I received was from my Mother Joi Jackson. She stated, “Be good to people, and they will be good to you. Do good business, and the business will sell itself.” While this sentiment is a simple mantra to wield, the impact of this message is quite substantial. I think this ideal of quality services, meets fair rates, is something I take very seriously when dealing with clients. It’s imperative to me that we add value with the services we provide, as there are other nanny services available outside of The Nanny Gals in Atlanta. However, the quality experience, professionalism, and on demand care we provide can only be excuted in respect to The Nanny Gals LLC. The Nanny Gal of your choosing is at your service! Our ladies (and sometimes gentlemen), offer expertise in a plethora of fields, as many are college educated. Some of our employees also speak multiple languages and are able to tutor children as well.

Finding additional team members is extremely delicate. This company deals with very personal parts of people’s lives. We are in someone’s home and helping with their children. This means I’m unable to add just anyone to the team. Detailed referrals, background checks and auto checks must be filed. Furthermore, as we are curating an all-star team, we are looking for people who bring a bit more to the table than just passing a background check. It’s vital to maintain the climate where we hold not only myself, but our team to higher standard. Our team members are able to speak and teach languages outside of English, hold child certifications, hold degrees, and are even athletes! So if your child is in need of help in these areas, we have set ourselves apart enough to deliver this experience for you.

This is only the beginning for The Nanny Gals Atlanta! Soon we will be expanding to Chicago in 2023, so please stay tuned for updates by following our instagram @TheNannyGals!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place in the city to eat is Bar Taco! I love the calm vibe and ambience there, as well as it affordability. Bar Taco is definitely my go to! If i’m looking for a rooftop occasion, I really like The Social Club events or even Draw Bar. Some of the most fun places to visit in Atlanta is for sure The Battery and The Beltline. At both of these locations, you’ll find a plethora of restaurants and places to explore!
