We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnathan Newton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johnathan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk-taking has played a huge role in my life. I’ve always believed that betting on yourself and charting your own course is the best policy. I’d rather give something my all, face setbacks head-on, and learn from my mistakes than never try at all. Every challenge teaches you something valuable, and even when things don’t go as planned, you walk away stronger and more prepared for the next opportunity. The only true failure is never starting—or giving up before you’ve had the chance to succeed. Taking that first step, even when it’s uncertain, is where growth begins.

Aged to Perfection: Neat Life is more than just a YouTube channel—it’s a reflection of the life I’ve built and the passions I’ve cultivated over the years. It’s about embracing the balance of being a husband, father, and professional while also carving out time for the things that make life rich—like a great pour of bourbon, a competitive game of poker, and the satisfaction of mastering the grill.

What sets Aged to Perfection apart is that it’s not just about bourbon or poker tips—it’s about creating a space where men like me, who juggle family, work, and personal goals, can unwind, learn, and connect. I’m most proud of the community that’s forming—guys who are navigating similar paths and finding value in what I’m sharing.

Getting to this point wasn’t easy. Finding time to build the channel while balancing work and family life has been a challenge, but I’ve got an incredible support system. My wife, and my family have been my sounding board and my rock. They’ve helped me problem-solve and stay motivated when things got tough.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency and authenticity matter. People connect with realness. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about showing up, sharing the journey, and finding joy in the process.

At the end of the day, Aged to Perfection is about encouraging men to embrace the life they’re building while still making room for the things that bring them joy. If I can help someone find the perfect bourbon, improve their poker game, or just inspire them to take a moment for themselves—that’s a win.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d make sure they got the full Georgia experience—great food, top-notch drinks, and a mix of exciting and relaxing spots. We’d definitely catch a Braves game at Truist Park and spend some time hanging out at The Battery before and after the game. There’s nothing like the energy of a live game combined with the lively atmosphere of The Battery—it’s a perfect blend of sports and social vibes. One night, we’d have to hit Roaring Social in Alpharetta. It’s a speakeasy-style spot with incredible live music, high-end cocktails, and an impressive bourbon selection. The vibe is upscale but not pretentious—perfect for a memorable night out. After taking in the nightlife, we’d head north of Atlanta to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains and really soak in the natural beauty and charm Georgia has to offer. It’s the perfect way to balance out the excitement of the city with the peacefulness of the mountains—a true taste of everything Georgia has to offer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I just want to give a huge shoutout to my amazing wife, and my incredible family. Your support means everything to me. You’ve always believed in me, helped me problem-solve when things got tough, and guided me through some of the biggest decisions in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without your love and wisdom—thank you for always being in my corner.
