We had the good fortune of connecting with John Sierra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Originally my thought process was ” I can do this and I’ll be able to have more freedom with my time and my schedule ” and I quickly realized that was not the case at all. I don’t have to wear some of the hats, I wear ALL OF THEM! I’ve since found ways to get a hold of my own schedule and have learned that one of the most valuable things we have is time, thus I had to master time management. I still find my self double or even triple booked for times and days but you learn to go with the flow of things and not fight them.

What should our readers know about your business?
This is a big one! What sets ASC apart in 1 word would be Passion! I’m passionate about helping others, whether it’s their roof or anything else I can do. There is nothing like a smile from a satisfied client and knowing that we had a part in it. Where I am today is light years ahead of where I thought I’d be, we’re just shy of 2 years old and have already had the honor to help veterans, churches, HOA’s, entire apartment complexes and even a historic police department. Although it has been difficult at times, those challenging moments usually tend to teach you more than when everything is running smooth. We have had our battles with suppliers, distributors and labor but we grew during all those set backs and now are better prepared for the future. Transparency with clients has been the best things for us through it all. We kept our clients in constant communication and up to date with tentative build dates etc. We were also able to come up with a pretty solid system as well to keep everything organized on the back end. We are not perfect and don’t claim to be, but what ASC is as a company is reliable. You can count on us know what to do, how to do it, and keep you informed on when it will be done. We don’t shy from challenges better yet we turn right towards the issues and take them on head on because passion is at the core of who we are.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is so diverse it really comes down to what you’re in the mood for. That said, if my bestie was in town for a week I’d recommend a hand full of golf courses. 1. Lake arrow head – one of my favorites the views the nature and the game of golf all in one. hard to beat. 2. Bridge mill – it still amazes me how they fit such a great and challenging course in a neighborhood. 3. The manor – this one is high end at it’s finest. great food, great views. what there not to like about the most expensive zip code and golf. We would have to take a ride on Lake altoona do some jet skis and have fun time at the lake and we would have to catch a Braves game and a Hawks game to wrap it all up!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God. He has seen me through things I didn’t think I’d ever get out of. Mentor wise I will say I’m an avid Tony Robbins follower along with Eric Thomas. My wife Ashaley, without her support and understanding, her willingness to not just let me run with my sometimes crazy ideas but also wanting to help in any way possible. My 3 boys, John Jr., Anthony and Isaac. They give me purpose and a desire to leave a legacy. My mother and father for showing me love and encouragement at every turn. And lastly my aunt Patty, she has been a beacon of light and inspiration since I was just a kid. Thank you to all of the people that have helped me along the way and to those who I’m yet to receive guidance from. I will never stop learning!
