We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Norton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, what are you most passionate about?
I love people and I love solving problems. When I can do both, I’m over the moon. There is something fundamentally rewarding about helping someone solve a problem that they are struggling with. I often get more excited about helping someone find a solution than they do. With Helium Sites, I talk to small business owners and non-profits every day. They all wear a lot of hats and often pulled in different directions. Developing and maintaining their website is often pushed to the bottom of the list. This is what sparked the idea of Helium Sites. So many small business owners and non-profits are at the daunting crossroads of an overly expensive website versus DIY misery. With Helium Sites, we are able to help these organizations look professional and grow their business. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. At Helium Sites, we cut the jargon, pushy sales, and most of all, the price. We remove the upfront cost hurdle by setting up every Helium Site for free. On top of that, we maintain every website and make unlimited updates, such as videos, photos, and content for our customers at no charge! When people hear this, they are sometimes confused yet pretty excited. That moment of seeing (and in the current COVID days, hearing) the relief we offer brings me so much joy. All in all, I am so grateful that I can do what I love every day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Helium Sites was born when a real estate agent, Jason, came to our partner company, Helium Services, looking for a website to help grow his real estate business. He soon realized that having a custom website build would cost him $10,000 or more. He was frustrated because he couldn’t find a service that would offer him a website that would stay up-to-date, secure, and give him the professional advantage he wanted. As we talked with Jason we realized that we could offer him a solution and Helium Sites was born. We believe that your website should give you a competitive edge in business without costing you a fortune. Helium Sites has been more successful than we could have imagined and we are so thankful for all of the early supporters. We love our customers and we hope that they love us back. We work with them every day to help keep their websites fresh and looking great. I am so thankful that we have a company that is fun, upbeat, and helps support so many small businesses and non-profits every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s make a day of it. Coffee: Muchacho The best coffee without any of the hipster attitude! Breakfast: Parish Go downstairs to save time and have a ton of great people (and dog) watching. Lunch: Hattie B’s I know it’s not an Atlanta original, but it is just so good. Can’t skip it! Dinner: Nina and Rafi Prepare yourself for a carb coma, but go for the rice balls (they taste nothing like rice) and Detroit Pizza. It takes 45 minutes for the pizza to come out, but I promise it is absolutely worth it. Drinks: Cold Beer Don’t let the name fool you, Cold Beer has some of the most creative cocktails in the city. Go upstairs for a cool view and top-down view of the passers-by on the beltline.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to make a big shoutout to our amazing team. They are such an incredible group of people that encourage one another, love what they do, and push every day to make each other better. I am often seen as the face of Helium Sites because I am out in the community, but our team of designers and developers are the ones who deserve the credit. They take our customers ideas and dreams and make them into reality.
