We had the good fortune of connecting with Joanne Ginoris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joanne, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
There are no secrets, no shortcuts for those of us that are at the forefront of small businesses. As hairdressers we must adapt to unforeseen. Behind every hairdresser in the industry that has surpassed their 7 year mark we are not just riding a wave to success as many people may believe, we work hard behind the scenes empowering & uplifting others. Im actually a very private person. That wasn’t always the case, in the beginning I used to share what was going on in my personal life with my clients. I realized I had to separate work/life completely….and that was hard for me at first. I mean I’m the super friendly, pro-woman, funny hairdresser everyone would love to have, but I stopped & everything just got lighter, still fun but more respectable.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
M.I.A (Microlinks International Academy) is in the works as we speak. I’m excited to work alongside a reputable hair extension company to back me up with an education database, in person, live/online classes so that the stylist has access to support 24/7.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love all the new boutique stores in the Atlanta suburbs, but it wouldn’t be a visit to Atlanta without a weekend bar hopping in Buckhead, visiting the Georgia Aquarium & go tubing at the Chattahooche River.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank Milady Education for asking me to contribute important information to their latest edition #14 released May 2022. This book is the Bible of Cosmetology & the knowledge this book possesses is so crucial for future cosmetologists of America. Education is the key to success!
