We had the good fortune of connecting with Joan Montreuil and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
As a creative, we must become fearless risk-takers. It is through taking risks that we can truly soar and achieve greatness. By stepping outside of our comfort zone, we have the opportunity to explore uncharted territories, experiment with bold ideas, and defy the limits of our creativity. When you believe in what you can do as a creative it is in these daring moments that we can truly appreciate the bravery it takes to risk it all to possibly gain it all.
Taking risks is not just about pushing boundaries; it is about personal growth and evolution. It is through facing challenges and overcoming obstacles that we develop new skills, and gain invaluable experiences, and life-long lessons, that refine our vision. It is about embracing uncertainty and the possibility of failure, knowing that within those moments lie hidden opportunities and untapped potential.
I understand the exhilaration of creating a community Writers Room, starting an all-female production company, and launching my online film academy. These are not just risks; again they are courageous leaps of faith. They demonstrate a level of confidence and determination that sets me apart from the others who are still waiting for that right moment, the right budget, and the right people. You and GOD are the majority! Start small and be persistent and consistent on your journey. It is then you will come to understand the true meaning of “where there’s a will, there is a way.”
I applaud visionaries’ willingness to embrace the unknown and to chase their dreams relentlessly. Some are moving in blind faith, but in their knowing, they understand the principle of faith! Remember, it is through taking risks that you will continue to grow, create, and inspire. Your journey is powerful, and I am here to support Creatives every step of the way.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
