Meet Jill Myrick | Hair Loss Specialist + Master Cosmetologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Myrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jill, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
While I was in the Marine Corps, I decided that I was going to go back to what I really loved doing..and that was HAIR. After getting out of the military, I knew I didn’t want to work for someone again and wanted to be my own boss, like I was before I joined the military.
I wanted a place that felt like a home away from home and for everyone to feel comfortable and part of a family. The hardest part of the process was naming the salon. I had a name picked out, but after researching, there were other salons in my area that were too close to the name I wanted. I consulted with my business partner, or rather my Mom, who out of nowhere came up with Hairitage House. It completely fit my vision and the atmosphere I wanted to create.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always known I wasn’t meant to just “do hair”—I was called to help people feel seen, confident, and cared for.
It wasn’t just about creating beautiful hair (though we do plenty of that)—it was about restoring confidence, especially for people who’d been overlooked or underserved. That passion led me to specialize in curly hair, hair color transformations, and eventually hair loss solutions.
But let me be clear—it wasn’t easy. I’ve faced burnout, doubt, and the challenge of growing a business while trying to stay true to my values. There were moments I questioned if I was doing enough, if I was enough. But every challenge taught me something:
Do it scared—but do it anyway.
The right people will find you when you show up authentically.
Your purpose will always pull you through the hard days.
Starting Hairitage House was the boldest leap I ever took—and also the most rewarding. I wanted to create a space that felt warm, welcoming, and rooted in something bigger than just style. That’s why I’m most proud of the culture we’ve built: one of education, mentorship, integrity, and heart.
What sets us apart? We don’t just style hair—we teach, guide, support, and heal. Whether it’s a guest dealing with hair loss or a curly-haired client finally learning to love their texture—we’re here for you.
This business is rooted in family, built on passion, and fueled by purpose. And we’re just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Obviously, we’d spend time at Hairitage House for a spa-like experience to unwind from the trip. We’d check out some good eats like, The Rookery, Tap and Pour and Longhorns. We’d get a snack at our local gourmet candy apple shop, The Apple Basket, for an apple or two. Then we could head out into the country for a stop at our local orchard, Lane’s, which has the best peaches and strawberries. They make THE BEST peach cobbler and homemade peach ice cream. The Museum of Aviation is a fun spot to check out and learn. We also have a place called Rigby’s Entertainment Complex and Water World. You can do some inline skating or bowling and then take a float on the lazy river in the water park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family roots run deep at Hairitage House.
My mom has been a huge part of this journey from day one. She’s the one who actually came up with the name Hairitage House—a perfect blend of hair, heritage, and home. She saw the vision before I fully did: a place that honors where we come from, while helping others feel confident in who they are today.
She’s been my cheerleader, advisor, and sometimes unofficial receptionist (because what mom isn’t ready to help you run the show?). Her support, wisdom, and belief in me helped turn a dream into a real, thriving business.
Hairitage House carries that warmth and meaning in every detail—and if you’ve ever felt right at home, now you know why.
