We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I teach our members that being physically fit and eating clean must be a lifestyle. A healthy mindset must take place for TRANSFORMATION. We must focus on the body, mind, and soul in order to improve our overall wellbeing. My instruction is centered around wholeness. This is why my members yield results and are very successful. During our group sessions members receive a healthy dose of affirmations, real talk training, along with a full body workout that works! A member may come in depressed, tired from a long day at work, or even stressed out. They never leave the way they entered. I’m doing Kingdom business so it will always be a win- win for the member and their entire family. I have a successful track record because I know my purpose and I take my assignment very serious. I am known as one of Atlanta’s most inspirational accredited trainers with over 20 years in the fitness industry. My collaboration with the Mayor of Union City has allowed me to expand my outreach and help transform Union City into the FITTEST city in Georgia.

The studio is also successful because I believe that we are stronger together. The ability to help someone change their attitude, mind or body is so awesome! I’m thankful God chose me to be a change agent.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My fitness studio is a personal touch training facility located in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s so unique because we are a fitness family. Each member is known by name and on a personal level. After training in several gyms I got a chance to witness what was missing. I discovered that not knowing members had a huge impact on their attendance, consistency, and being able to maintain weight loss. I knew in my own training facility, this was something I wanted to rectify. 22 years ago, my unique, down to earth, and energetic training style was born. My training style paired with custom mixes with intention generated marvelous RESULTS for my clients. God gave me a training style that is like no other trainer. I’m training, teaching, and preaching all at the same time. My members say training at Jill Miller Fitness Studio is an experience!

Initially, having a business was very challenging. I was a dedicated educator and teacher leader that would often leave the school with the custodians. I loved my full time teaching career; however, balancing being a wife and trainer within other schools and gyms was no easy task. My husband was supportive and saw my passion for both and encouraged me to start my business part time. With his support, I stepped out on faith in 2009 and Jill Miller Fitness Studio was formed. My husband, who is now also a permanent trainer at JM Fitness Studio, initially only ran the morning classes. This allowed me to complete my work as a teacher and then take charge of the evening training sessions.

Recent fans or followers of my wellness journey may not know that I did not always set out to be a certified group fitness-personal training instructor, but receiving an unfavorable doctor’s report ignited a fire in me! I knew that I wanted to live a long, healthy, and prosperous life so I had to make changes in my diet and incorporate fitness to my daily regimen. If I could motivate myself to change I knew I could help others.

Falling in love with exercising and studying nutrition was the best decision I could have ever made. Soon I became a fanatic, and it was no longer my mission to only be a change agent in the classroom. I wanted to also have an impact on others regarding health and wellness in my community.

What a blessing to be able to show students throughout schools that you can do whatever you want to do!! When I’m called on to mentor, coach, or do motivational speaking, I make it my business to share my testimonials and remind listeners that sometimes challenging life situations can end up being a gift from God. You’ll never know if you don’t take that LEAP of FAITH!

In 2019, I took another leap of faith and retired from being an educator. Today, I’m a philanthropist, Partner in Education, a Union City board member, mentor to youth, a motivational coach, and I continue to run the fitness studio where I’m a personal and group instructor. I am also the co-owner of One Life Juice Wellness Center, which is now in conjunction with my fitness studio. We now have a one stop shop where we’re able to provide a total health and wellness program to the community- Fitness, nutritional supplements, holistic products, and more!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely have my friend start the day with fitness! She would participate in my total body 1 hour class held in my Studio. As a post workout drink we would have one of our fresh, cold pressed juices. After showering and resting up some…we would either visit the Atlantic Station or Ponce City Market in Atlanta! They both have so much culture, great people and food. I What friend wouldn’t want to shop or people watch. Both shopping malls are self-contained with restaurants, shopping, and entertainment,
During the week we would also visit the High Museum, the King Center and a few Civil Rights Museums. The newest museum for civil and human rights in Atlanta, GA is the National Center For Civil And Human Rights. All of these places I mentioned are only a few minutes from each other. How awesome is that!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Glenn Miller. He encouraged me to just do it! He saw the passion I had for training others in the gyms I worked in as well as the schools in our community. He encouraged me to start my fitness studio. In the early days, my husband selflessly allowed me to use part of his photography studio so that I would have a place to train others.

I’m glad that he encouraged me to believe in my natural God given talent and accomplish all my goals!!
