We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhetta Tionne Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jhetta Tionne, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
For me, risk is all about stepping out of my comfort zone to grow and pursue what matters. In acting, risk keeps things exciting and allows me to explore new sides of myself.

Moving from New Jersey to chase an acting career was a huge leap, but one that opened doors I wouldn’t have found otherwise. Booking roles has been another big step, pushing me to keep growing as an artist. Directing and starting my own production company, Jani Adriel Studios, was a risk too, but my love for storytelling made it worth it.

Each risk has brought me closer to my goals, reminding me that the best rewards come when I’m willing to dive in and take a chance. More importantly, risk taking allows me to lean more into my faith.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an actress and a creative, always have been! Growing up, I was that kid daydreaming about stories and acting them out, totally inspired by storytellers like Gina Prince-Bythewood, Spike Lee, Ryan Coogler, Ava DuVernay, Issa Rae, August Wilson, and Zora Neale Hurston, to name just a few. College helped me dive into that passion when I minored in Theatre Performance, and since then, I’ve been preparing for roles that carry that same depth and meaning.

Taking a leap of faith, I moved to Atlanta, knowing it’d open doors and put me in a space where people are constantly creating and telling stories. Moving here wasn’t easy at all—I grew up commuting to college from the home I was born and raised in, so cutting that “umbilical cord” was a big deal. But it was so worth it and really essential for me as an artist.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in this career is to trust myself. As an actress, I’m always analyzing characters—even real-life ones around me! When you put in the work and show up prepared, trusting yourself becomes second nature—and that applies to life in general! (Shoutout to my coach, Malik Ali!)

I’m excited to keep telling meaningful stories and to see where God is leading me. I want my brand to celebrate creativity that brings attention to the unspoken, capturing authentic experiences in society that are meaningful and heartfelt—giving voice to stories that deserve to be heard.
Additionally, I’ve always loved beauty and fashion, which is a story in itself! My page @journeyofjhetta on instagram is where I share my passions for beauty, fashion, and faith. What can I say? I’m just a girl.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First things first, I’d take them on an active-activity. Jogging the Beltline to kickoff the day is my kind of party! Since we’re already so close, Piedmont Park is the next stop!
Next up, is one of my favorite Baristas- Foxtail Coffee!’

To end the day, Alliance Theatre to see what’s showing on the Box Office!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A huge shoutout to my mentor and acting coach, Malik Ali! His real, raw, and uncut teachings have profoundly impacted my craft, helping me become a better actor and a more thoughtful observer of myself, stories, and the life happening around me. His guidance is truly inspiring, and he’s pushed me onto a path of growth I’ll always be grateful for.
I’ve also been so blessed to have Carmella Glover as a mentor—she’s had a huge impact on me. Her sharp intellect, quick wit, strong faith, and persistence have been so inspiring. She’s always encouraged me to be a woman of business, integrity, and creativity. No question, she’s the kind of example I hope to follow in everything I do.
