We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhetta Ebron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jhetta, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always had a great work ethic, I just had a hard time being in a place where it was appreciated. I knew that if I apply that same effort, ethic and time into my own business that I could gain so much more than working for someone else. Also, I would appreciate myself and I wouldn’t have to deal with the things that you typically do when working under someone else’s thumb.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I would like to say I chose videography and photography but it really chose me. I’ve always wanted to be a part of entertainment but I didn’t want to lose myself by doing so. Being behind the camera allows me to be in the same rooms without feeling as though I have to be the center of attention. I’ve always had a vision whether that be for myself or other people and I didn’t know that there are people out there who don’t have a vision. Everyone doesn’t have an imagination to get their point across or to be heard or felt the way that they want to and that’s where I come in. To be able to be trusted with someone’s thoughts or most precious moments means so much to me and I can’t take that lightly. With those responsibilities it helps keep me humble as well as professional because the last thing I want is for anyone to feel as though the service that they have come to me for will not be rendered the way they expect. I’ve had to take some losses whether that be financially or physically through the art itself but I don’t shy away from it at all because it only makes me better when I move onto the next client with the next project. I’m proud of my growth in a career field that knew nothing about except for I wanted to help people see what they couldn’t .
I always want to people to know that no matter what they came to me for, they would be taken care of. When people mention my brand or hear it I want them to immediately feel comfort and surety. I think what I’m proud of so far is that even in the world of social media my business has grown so much through word of mouth recommendations. That means that the mission that I set out is being fulfilled client by client. If it wasn’t, there would be no me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I remember going to a live jazz club called “ Blind Willies “. One thing I can always appreciate isn’t inviting atmosphere. Especially one where you can look around and no one really looks like you. In a time where so much is going on to be able to just sit and listen means everything. I appreciate all live music but when you find such an intimate setting and you feel like you and the band are one, all your problems seem to fall by the waist side. I typically stay inside but when I do go out it’s going to be for a nice walk or to enjoy live entertainment with some great food and a drink.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I could give credit or recognition to anyone who helped me on this journey I would have to write a book. I’ve been influenced by so many people whether that was negative or positive, but at all the experiences I encountered helped me grow. Life itself takes the credit in pushing me to be who I am. I’ve lived in full so far and to deny all the experiences would mean I haven’t learned a thing.
