We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessxica Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessxica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I don’t think it was a complete thought process; I just kind of got nudged to do it intuitively. After leaving my corporate job at Mercedes-Benz, where I worked as an packaging engineer, I knew that I wanted to live a more creative life and lead one with flexibility. The day-to-day grind wasn’t working for me. I feel like the corporate world doesn’t really support people who are part of minority groups in terms of success. Honestly, in my opinion, there is biased hierarchy ingrained within the system from our history. But let’s get back to why I started my own businesses: I’ve always had a desire to help others while also pursuing what makes me happy – being flexible meanwhile utilizing creativity whenever possible can be beneficial not only financial wise but mentally too! In addition growing up having family members involved small-scale enterprises provided insight on how effective they were set-up which gave me an advantage when creating plans for myself!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In 2013, I created Invisible Rebel as a Men’s fashion clothing line and custom shoe brand made in Italy. However, after reevaluating my passions in 2021, I decided to revamp the company into something greater. Music had always been another passion of mine and this time around, it was important for me to fuse all aspects of my life together – Studio Music Fashion & Lifestyle. Underneath Invisible Rebel are sub-brands such as Burnt Roses and SWJ (Sessions with Jess). Sessions with Jess offers independent artists a chance to network and collaborate through connections provided by industry producers or engineers while also providing an opportunity for them see what the creative lifestyle is like beyond just music production – including travel opportunities across multiple states not limited but now branching out further on relaunching tours in New York City,Houston And Nashville. What sets us apart from others is our dedication towards instilling meaningful values that elevate creativity within individuals allowing them authentic experiences when appealing their talent towards superiors. I am most proud when, gratitude is expressed throughout my events. Everything aligns perfectly and that’s why we do these things; watching faces light up afterwards expressing appreciation makes everything worth doing!
I am incredibly fortunate and appreciative of my mentors and network. Starting a business is no small feat; it comes with immense risk, but the payoff justifies persevering through obstacles. The past two years were hard for me I have had my share of growing pains, teaching me invaluable lessons that shaped me into the principled woman I am today. My approach to overcoming challenges has been rooted in authenticity, establishing boundaries along the way while accepting occasional setbacks as part of life’s journey. With dedication and determination, anyone can achieve what they set out to do – anything truly is possible and I will always encourage that!
My mission is to showcase that my artistry and brands are destined for success, upholding authenticity throughout the business. Encouraging others to embrace creativity with courage and confidence while delving deeper into their craft has always been an inspiration of mine as it’s a vital element in any creative journey- embracing one’s story along its path. However, I acknowledge that encountering varied energies requires taking measures towards self-protection too. I visualize myself becoming a dominant figure – leader, mogul or even powerhouse – paving the way for future generations across artistic fields; ultimately establishing my name amongst some of the greatest artists this world shall witness.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am new to Atlanta and currently reside in Midtown. I am still exploring the various areas and cities nearby. Among my favorites are Sandy Springs and Vinings area. If my best friends were to visit, I would take them to Chatahoochee River or perhaps Stone Mountain for some outdoor activities. Although I haven’t tried it yet, I enjoy dining at restaurants throughout Atlanta and might consider trying a hookah brunch experience soon. Happy Hour is always enjoyable; Eclipse De Luna ,STK ATL or FOGO DE CHAO located in bulkhead are among my favorite spots with their all-day happy hour offering – simply amazing! Additionally, finding something such as a Speakeasy or Artist showcase event excites me greatly!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
