We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Santos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think that life is a risk, every thing that I have done has been risky. I worked in a prison, and a jail, where i never knew what the outcome would be when i went to work on a daily basis. When I decided to retire to pursue a career in the event industry, that was another risk. I believe that all entrepreneurs take risks, and if you want to succeed in life you must be willing to take risks and be ready for consequences. Taking risks has taught me lessons, The learn from your mistakes theory is nothing but facts. Im at a level because I took risks. When you’re scared to take risks, you remain at the same level you started at.

What should our readers know about your business?
Let me introduce Jessica Santos Events , Full service Celebrity event planning and styling company. Studio J , the Hottest Miami event venue in Dade county ( not a ordinary event space ). I am a creative / curator, Im able to flip an empty space and turn it into a unbel I offer several services in the event industry making it a one stop shop when planning a event. I started off baking custom cakes and than I branched off into event styling. Opened up my venue , expanded the venue , now with three spaces within the building . I also offer bartending services, interior design services and occasional catering. I started a event called cake and trap, which is DIY cake decoratiing event, where guests learn to decorate a cake and get lit at the sam etime, the event features a live dj and they get to take home a cake decorated by them taught by me ! So when im contacted about a event , I have many services to offer. Im extremely proud of how I excelled in the industry in such short timeframe. Im also expanding my business to other cities , with plans to open a venue space in 4 different cities. It was not easy, I have my slow weeks and I have my extremely busy weeks. I am person who works well under pressure , so im able to overcome many obstacles without stress. If your not learning lessons your not learning. Everything is learned through trial and error. I want the world to know that the name jessica santos will be known across the globe soon.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So if your in Miami, Theres is so much to do, Im like the biggest foodie . Depending on the weather , We would probably book a yacht and jetskis for the day. Have brunch somewhere like bistros cafe in the midtown area of miami. Depending on the type of food they are into, I would choose the restaurant. My all time favorites are Prime 112 on south beach and Mila on south beach , and im a big fan of Ruth chris. I mean I love food . We’ll probably hang out at my place if its on a tuesday, Because I host taco tuesday every tuesday. Maybe stop by victory restuarant in midtown as well. Book a spa at the spa at mondarian oriental. Hit the beach, rent scooters. maybe go to joia beach for lunch. We have endless activities in my city, depending on what my friend like to do .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely shout out my late husband Santos and my two daughters . He encouraged me from day one to take this leap of faith and go for it. He pushed me and stayed on me all the time. My children help me with everything and they are the reason for my dedication .
