We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
What should our readers know about your business?
My business was originally started with Black and Brown people in mind, as so often we are deprived of or have limited access to these unique and luxurious services. My business mainly serves Black women between the ages of 30 and 60 years old, and I feel it’s such a honor to help my clients release deep stored trauma that they thought was never even possible. What sets my business apart from other hypnotherapist and mindset experts is by far my angelic, big smile, and warm hearted personality and energy. If you ask the average person that has come in contact with me, they will tell you that, “It’s something about her spirit that makes me feel so comfortable and trusting.” Shoutout to God for creating me this way, and shoutout to myself for stepping into the calling. I’m so proud and glad that I get to help people on this deep level. They say that “the therapist makes the therapy,” therefore I am so grateful that I get to infused my unique personality into my therapy practice for all my clients to experience.
I would want the world to know that healing IS possible! That you don’t ever have to succumb to past traumas or the feeling of not being good enough. That rewiring your subconscious mind in order to have new and empowering self beliefs is totally possible if you believe in invest in yourself. I would always want to be remembered by being the person that has such a bright light and unforgettable energy, and that anytime you leave my presence, you will leave a better version of yourself in which you came.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend were to visit my city of Indianapolis, IN, I would first take them to all my favorite vegan food spots. Not only am I mostly plant-based and a huge foodie, but I believe that GOOD vegan food is such an art form, and we have so many good vegan food spots in the city that I would want the to try them all!
I’m also a big nature lover, and so my favorite parks, hiking trails, and lakes would be on the list to show my visitor for sure.
Lastly, I just love gathering with my Black and Brown brothers and sisters, and while Indy has majority White population, the Melanated events definitely be on and poppin’ in the summer time. I would take them to some of those events, such as an open mic, Black Joy fest, weekly rooftop parties, Black Expo, Sunday Funday at the winery, First Fridays, and much more.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
