We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Chapin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my Reiki journey in 2018. During a time when lots of facets of my life were evolving and moving, I discovered that I needed to make a change and start growing myself. My stepdaughter had just left the nest and was headed off to college and I found myself needing more, spiritually and physically. One day, while working at my other business, iMagiNations Boutique in New Jersey, a customer came by and asked me to join her Reiki class. And here I was just asking the Universe for a sign of inspiration to keep growing and it literally walked in the door that same day. I felt very lucky indeed. The Reiki class was amazing, and it has been a rewarding adventure ever since that day. Finding Reiki helped me discover my own needs in every sense, as I have created a very healthy and peaceful lifestyle. I now have my own Reiki practice, Bliss Reiki Arts, in Savannah that offers several different types of therapies.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been practicing Reiki for a few years and my passion for helping others started many years ago. My current certification is a Holy Fire® III Karuna® Reiki Master. I have been trained in the Usui Reiki tradition and the Holy Fire ® tradition. I have expanded my practice to include extensive training and certifications in Hypnosis and Past Life Regression therapy and other spiritual regression therapies . I believe that Reiki and Hypnosis can aid and heal your life on a physical, mental, and spiritual level. I enjoy my passion and practice. It has allowed me to aid and help others achieve higher well-being, and experience beautiful healing energy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite spots is the Starland Yard District. It’s a newer venue with a restaurant, bar, and live music most days. They bring in food trucks to the yard, and they rotate with all the food truck vendors in the area to keep the variety going. Last week they had a fundraiser for an animal rescue organization. 100 dogs and 150 people and there is always plenty of room! It’s a gem in Savannah, and definitely worth a stop if you are in town.

A nice walk after grabbing a snack and a drink at Starland Yard, a walk down Bull Street is a must. This takes you down through magical Forsyth Park, past the fountain and the majestic oak trees, afterwards past the Kessler Armstong house to admire the marble statues. Along the way are many cafes, shops and restaurants. Every few blocks there is another square filled with history and trees. Following Bull Street all the way down to the river is a bit of a walk, but totally worth it! It’s great to end up at Plant Riverside, I love taking friends to see the crystals there. It is like a museum. They have many shapes and sizes of crystals and some of them you can touch.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many ! All of my teachers, especially Beth Wishbow my Reiki teacher https://www.insightholistichealth.com/ and Kelly Bearer my spiritual regression therapy teacher https://www.boulderhypnotherapyinstitute.com/ These women have helped me grow in so many ways, the have taught me about my mind, body and spirit.

It can be a bumpy road to find the right teacher to guide you and to teach you that you have all the tools you need in this world inside you! You just need to learn how to access them. Both of these amazing women have influenced the way I run my healing practice and how I approach my clients. They are always open and available to speak with me about new ways to do things and make genuine time to be a mentor to their students. I hope that I am able to share the same passion and wisdom with my Reiki students.
