Meet Jessica Chambers | Nutrition Coach & Zumba Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up, I was always passionate about health and fitness. Working out was always a priority for me, sometimes getting up at 5 am to make it happen. Despite being active, I had no idea how to fuel my body properly. So I set myself the goal of learning about nutrition. With the knowledge I gained from years of studying and researching, I was finally in a place where I felt confident, healthy, and strong. Because I found success, I loved the idea of helping other women find success as well. Being my boss and having complete control over my life was another thing I was looking forward to. After working for other people for many years, I finally decided to take the plunge and start my own business. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it! Since then, I have enjoyed helping others adopt healthy habits which have enabled them to reach their weight goals. I get so much satisfaction from teaching others to nourish their bodies properly without restrictions.

What should our readers know about your business?
Throughout my fitness journey, I’ve learned that eating healthy foods and working out does not have to feel like a chore. I struggled with yo-yo dieting and consistently trying to find the next easy fix.
I found freedom through understanding macronutrients and our metabolism. As a result, I stopped depriving myself and developed a healthy relationship with food. I no longer view certain foods as good or bad. After years of helping others with their nutrition and fitness goals, I decided to get my Nutritional Coaching Certification.
I started Lift Healthy by Jess because I wanted to teach others to enjoy a healthy lifestyle while reaching their fitness goals. Nowadays, there are so many fad diets that promise quick results. Sadly these quick fixes only lead to more health problems. With my 1:1 Coaching program, I teach others how to properly fuel their bodies (eating enough calories throughout the day) while still getting results. Many women avoid carbs and their favorite desserts because they want to lose weight, which usually leads to binge eating and other eating disorders. I teach my clients how to incorporate their favorite foods while still getting their desired results. This program gives my clients food freedom—no more yo-yo dieting, depriving themselves of carbs, or unhealthy food relationships.
Since dancing has always been my passion, I also became a Zumba and Zumba Strong Instructor. I’m currently teaching virtually through zoom, and I love it! It’s so rewarding to see people join my class, have fun, and get a great workout. I love being able to help people lead a healthier lifestyle and reach their fitness goals while having fun.
I’ve learned valuable information and shared it with my friends, who have found success and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. My goal is to help many reach their health and fitness goals sustainably and teach them everything they need to achieve lasting results.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had friends visiting the Atlanta area, I would take them to several spots. Since I’m a food person, I would start with breakfast. Cafe Intermezzo has a fantastic breakfast menu, and the service they provide is outstanding. Next, I would stop at the Atlanta Botanical Garden to get my steps in while enjoying the beautiful scenery. It’s such a relaxing spot and great for catching up. For lunch, I would stop at True Food Kitchen. I highly suggest trying out the Grilled Sustainable Salmon, the Edamame Dumplings Soup, and the Flourless Chocolate Cake. After lunch, I would take my friend to the mall for shopping and end the night at Eclipse di Luna for dinner, live music, and dancing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to say that starting my business made me super nervous, but because I had so much support from family and friends, I gathered the courage to start. After many prayers, I feel like my God, Jehovah, helped me through this process. He knew how much I wanted to control my schedule, giving me extra time for volunteer work. Also, my amazing husband, Darren, supported me throughout this process and always helped me stay positive even when I had so many doubts.
