We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Jaimes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
“I started my own business and created Resilient and Rowdy because I noticed a gap in the podcasting space—there weren’t enough platforms amplifying the real, unfiltered experiences of women veterans during and after their service. I saw the power of storytelling in other conversations and how healing and validating those stories could be. I wanted to create a space where we could continue those meaningful dialogues, offer connection, and make others feel seen.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Being in the entertainment space, it’s easy to glamorize stories or polish over the hard parts—but I noticed there was a real lack of authenticity and raw truth. So I decided that the best way I could contribute was by showing up as my full, quirky self and sharing my lived experiences. I knew I wasn’t alone in the things I had witnessed and lived through. The feedback I received after opening up was powerful—it reminded me that vulnerability is a strength, and that real stories matter. I’ve since made a promise to myself: to continue sharing honest, relatable stories that help others gain insight, grow, and show up more fully in their own lives, no matter their circumstances.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, it depends on the season—because Atlanta sports are a must. Win or lose, it’s always a good time. In the summer, there’s nothing better than catching a Braves game at Truist Park.
For a bestie dinner date, I love tapas and cocktails at Gypsy Kitchen—it’s the perfect spot for delicious food and a fun vibe. For something more scenic, I’d head up to the North Georgia vineyards—Montaluce Winery is an absolute dream with gorgeous views and great wine. And for a chill day, a picnic at Piedmont Park with some people-watching always hits the spot.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to thank my friends and family, and most importantly, the countless military members and veterans who have tuned in to the show. Their support has kept me going. Pouring your heart and soul into a project like Resilient and Rowdy is no small feat, and during the moments I considered walking away, it was their encouragement that reminded me just how impactful these conversations truly are. I’d also like to thank my friend Jennifer Aun, whose creative vision helped refresh Resilient and Rowdy as I’ve grown and evolved along the way.
