Meet Jess Cason | Content Creator | SEO Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Cason and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jess, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
To explain that, I’ll first say that I have a strong relationship with God and it got stronger once my Son went onto glory at 10 in 2019 (natural causes, it was just his time to go). In that time, I realized that God wanted the individual I was/am to come to the Him honestly- so that I could get the understanding I needed to survive.
Once God made me feel like even with the “wrong” I do (sipping my wine, puffing my weed, cussin’ a lil bit) he still wanted to partner with me to get through this trauma, I wondered “how many other Women are saved but still got hands like me?”. So, I wanted to create a brand that relates to the everyday Mom, Young Woman, Adult Woman, Seasoned Woman- who can relate to me, me to them and we can create community together.
And for those who can’t relate, they’ll still find a place- down at TheJessCasonBrand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
– What sets my content apart from others is I always have the mindset of how can I entertain and educate the viewer. I avoid adding to negative discussions in the social media landscape by providing fun, uplifting, funny insight on various hot topics.
– I stay in a constant state of contentment, so while I’m proud that I’ve created an actual platform that has a community, I have a new goal to simply do more in 2024.
– I’ve always held down a corporate job since 18, in the last 3-4 years, I worked as a SEO Analyst and Copywriter with Gragg Advertising. Over the last three years, I worked on learning the platforms and editing skillset necessary to begin work on my brand. Now, over the last 6-7 months, I’ve started dropping at least 6-7 videos a week on YouTube and short form videos on social media to build a presence. And for the last month or so, I’ve began working on a blog that gives insightful tips on digital marketing for creators, brands, small businesses etc. With everything I do, I apply everything I learned from my job at Gragg.
– The best lesson I learned along the way is to keep your head down and work. I work off of a daily routine and I consistently get after it. There isn’t a short cut to making money on social media or as business. Fail forward because at least you’re going some damn where!
– I want the world to know that had it not been for my Son who saw the personality in me, I doubt I’d be doing what I’m doing now.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am such a homebody right now, I work around the clock and this summer will be my first free summer. I plan to go to a Larry June concert, go visit my best friend in LA, Jacqueline for my birthday next month and my best friend Angel in Texas.
I recently was able to quit my 9-5 to pursue content creating and SEO strategizing full time on February 2nd of this year. So I am now on a wild ride to learn about everything in the city and outside the landscape of what I can see. Wish me luck!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout God and my very best friend in the whole wide world, Jacqueline Ayala. The first mentor I ever had that showed me we could live the lives we talked about as kids in Kansas City. To my family, only the strong survive, right? 😉 (<– please use winky face)
