We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerry Buckner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jerry, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe ideas are like relationships. If you don’t treat them right they will find someone else to manifest them. I don’t want to miss out on one could grow to become one of the greatest relationships of my life. I want to tell the story of how I met, nurtured and grew my idea of Jerrimiah James to my future partner, friends and family.
In my mind the risk of failing wasn’t the worst possible outcome. The worst possible outcome was never trying and never knowing if it would have worked between Jerrimiah James and myself. I am going to shoot my shot and live with knowing I gave it the best shot.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I felt there was an absence in this space. Instore shopping is meant for us to place the spotlight on our clients. In my experience I have come to understand that many of us shop instore looking for an experience that makes us feel good. I don’t believe any product can fully fulfill that need. Only people can. I believe when properly addressed we do not over consume. I wanted a space where this craving could be fed from both an experience and shopping end.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my best friend comes to visit we would probably start with a few properly built cocktails at Le Colonial with Chandler because he’s a great bartender and I love the walk from Buckhead Village District over to the Saint Regis where Atlas is housed. I’m a foodie so I eat out every single day… I know. It’s a real problem. My bestie and I will definitely have to spend a day hiking at SweetWater Creek State park and another day strolling the belt line and enjoying the scenes and more cocktails at The James Room. I am a really huge fan of jei ju so we will have to spend sometime there one day and another day of fitness perhaps at Barry’s Bootcamp because I actually haven’t been in a while or Barre at Exhale Spa. Honestly that is like my weekly life so I’m not sure if I’m missing out on all Atlanta has to offer, but fun for my bestie and I would pretty much just be food, champagne, selfcare and lots of laughter. But I am told Atlanta has amazing club life, lol..
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow guys! There are too many to count. I am grateful for all of my close friends who kept pushing me to keep going, my amazing clients who have allowed me the pleasure of outfitting their lifestyles, JamesTown for my beautiful showroom at Buckhead Village District, Saks 5th Avenue for this amazing partnership and…. I have to shoutout Dr. Seuss’ book “Oh, the Places you’ll go!” and Brene Brown for her amazing work on vulnerability and shame.
Perhaps the biggest shoutout goes to all of the backs on which I stand. I firmly believe if not for the men and women in my bloodline that have come before me, if not for their will to live this just simply wouldn’t be happening for me.
