We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerreme Wade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerreme, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I took a break from my business, it was the best decision that I could have made. The time away allowed me to find stability and peace in both myself as well as what’s around me for this new beginning! Now I have balance in my life when things get tough or hectic. There are two habits where will always find peace: writing and reading. These habits formed my ability to seek balance. I’m still improving my work/life balance to this day. I’ve started though. I’m ready and willing to endure the challenges I face because I continue to prioritize balance in my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a content writer and technical writer, I have the opportunity to write, structure, and edit documents that improve internal communication within companies. These documents make it easier for marketing, branding, and advertising to take place. On the contrary, the documents I write can teach consumers how or why they need to use products. Essentially, I’m proud (excited) to take complex language and make it easy for others to understand. I’ve been in school for over a decade to get to where I’m at today. I have a A.A in Social Sciences and B.A in English. I’m looking to finalize my M.A in Writing, Rhetoric, & Technical Communication as well. It was never easy to get to where I’m at today. I decided to start writing young. By writing words in a way that is easy to process, people can feel what companies might want to say. My academic experience and on-job training enables me to write documents like: blogs, emails, articles, or newsletters. These online publications create unique ways for people to consume information. I just want the world to know that I’m a work in progress. Every day is a journey with a unique destination in mind. I’ve make plenty of mistakes that I’m learning from today. As long as I keep learning, I’ll keep growing. My process is ongoing. I want to be at peace with myself and others around me. Positive energy is essential.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best place to visit in Virginia Beach is APEX. This indoor arcade has go-karts, mini golf, laser-tag, bowing, and more for all ages! I recently went there with my family. We enjoyed some delicious food from their restaurant menu before playing several games. It was an amazing experience. If I had a friend come in town, we would take advantage of APEX. There are so many activities offered at this really cool spot right near the oceanfront.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m so grateful to have such an amazing family. I’d like to shoutout my family in this series. We often forget how or why we build our foundations as young professionals. I continue to learn a lot from my family. They’ve been there for me through all the adversity. I know that they love me unconditionally. The way we all look out for each other inspires me to continue moving forward. My family family has subconsciously relit a fire within me. I’m in a special place mentally because of the support of my family. In this world, family is important! I’d be nothing without my family and God. There is nothing that can break the bond I have with my family. I’m proud to create balance at any moment with my family over an honest conversation!
