We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerrell Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerrell, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business made perfect sense in my situation! I inherited my entrepreneurial spirit from my family, so I always knew that I would start a business one day. Once I decided that I wanted to pursue music fully and I saw that I could make an income while doing so consistently, I researched how to start a company correctly and took action!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is the creation and ability to manipulate sound! My passion is music, and I find so much enjoyment in being able to fully immerse myself in the process of creating something that can positively affect the world! What makes me different is what makes me Human! No one else hears and feels the music the same way that I do! I’m most proud of my progression over the years and excited that I have so much more to learn and do! Professionally, I am where I’m at because of my work ethic, networking, and staying on top of my business. Nothing worth it is ever easy, but every hiccup and hardship along the way will prepare me for the next level of my Story! I overcome challenges by accepting them and never giving up while overcoming them. The biggest lessons I’ve learned came from listening to the wisdom of Elders. I want the world to know that my brand, Trak Atiks Music, will continue to grow as I grow!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a laid-back, chill person, so we’d have to hit the Beach! I get my most significant vibes from being around water and waves! A week-long trip would be full of eating and drinking at the best seaside spots and hanging out on the sand! I always bring my remote studio setup with me so I’d find the best view, setup, and turn the trip into a project! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my Mentors! Jamison Brown, Chuck Anderson, God Damn Bee, David “Mr. DJ” Sheats, DJ Burn One, Ray Seay, Kenny Mixx, Ken Lewis, Gary Noble, Seth Firkins (R.I.P.), LRoc, & Denny Lavish!
