Meet Jerome Taylor: DISC JOCKEY/ENTERTAINER

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerome Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerome, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After working 25 years as a Manager for The Sherwin-Williams Co. and wanting to make a difference with my music I decided to take a leap of faith and retire and pursue my dream full time in Sept 2018. After singing and dancing all my life and watching other people do what they love musically I knew in order to be successful, I had to put a little twist to my skills as a Singer, D.J. and Dancer. I go by the name of DJ ENERGIZER. I was first hired as D.J. at a small club in High-Point, NC called JACKIE’S PLACE JAZZ VENUE in Sept. 2012 which I knew I had to really stand out to get my name out there. They wanted me to do karaoke for the club which became a success, but what I would do is play music that other DJ’s was not playing in the area, which was the MOTOWN SOUND and then afterwards added a little LINE DANCING, which created the PERFECT COMBINATION. The excitement grew and my name was out there. My passion then grew to nursing homes (singing to the residence and dancing with them) Community Centers (teaching line dances and helping with rehab patients) Restaurants such as APPLEBEES, etc..bringing karaoke and excitement to bring in customers to help with restaurants revenue. Each year I D.J for Cancer, Diabetes, March of Dimes, St. Judes and Mental Health Walks/Runs. I have had the opportunity to do hundreds of weddings, travel the east coast doing what I love to do and that is bring a smile to faces WHEREVER I go with ALL GENRES of music, singing and dancing into the hearts of others. Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a D.J./Entertainer, There are not too many people can multi-task on the dance floor, such as singing, dancing (teach dances all at one time, so it feels good to be among the elite to make people take notice of your talents. One thing about what I have noticed is that there were not any challenges after people knew what you brought to the table for their venue/events. I have learned is to know that you can’t let anyone stop your passion, your dreams, your desires of something you have your heart set on.
