We had the good fortune of connecting with Jermel Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jermel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The process is mainly from a creative stand point in my opinion. After a while in the business you can’t just be sitting around waiting for the phone to ring or an email. You have to put yourself in position to make opportunities not only for yourself but for others around you. By you making that move and that decision you could directly not only change your life but the life of others too as well

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My foundation how I started in this business is from Acting and music. However now it’s so much more than just that. In order to succeed in this business of entertainment you have to wear many hats. It’s not for vanity of doing so a lot of times it’s out of necessity. I’m the beginning no one will be your biggest fan except you meaning it’s going be awhile before people will be pounding down your door to work with you. Some will overcharge you. So you better pick up additional skills to succeed. At this point I’m no longer just and Actor or Rapper. Im also a stunt performer, comedian, screen and songwriter. I also own my own company Focus Mindz Entertainment

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m based out of New York so we would definitely go to the city it’s so much to see up there alone and do many opportunities. Like Times Square and Herald Square Alone, Rockefeller Center, the lower and upper Eastside and the village
