We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Bryan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremy, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The first success habit of mine is to always set a target. Targets are crucial for every project to succeed. Just like navigating a ship, it’s important to have targets/destinations, or the ship will drift off course. Two, I set deadlines to accomplish my targets. It’s always a good feeling to accomplish something within a set time frame.
And last but not least, I always persist. Even if I come up short on a project I’ll just regroup, strategize, and go at it again until I succeed. You never fail at something until you quit.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an artist and music producer from Cincinnati, OH. I believe that one thing that sets me apart from others is that since 2005, I’ve released close to 1,000 songs. I’ve been blessed to collaborate with several Billboard charting artists, a Juno Award winning producer, national and international labels (major and indie), and an Emmy Award winning composer. I’m grateful for all of these accomplishments.
Professionally, I got to where I am today by just basically having a good attitude and being consistent. Those two qualities alone will open doors of opportunities, for anyone. Of coarse, times haven’t always been easy but as they say, you live and you learn. But even better, learn from others so you can avoid repeating the same errors.
One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is to be patient with others. Quite often I treat myself as a drill sergeant and hold myself to high standards. At times, I’ve unfairly projected that onto others. My intent was right but the delivery was quite harsh. So I’m learning and growing as an artist. I realize now, that we all have our talents and move within our own capacity. And I can respect that.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d take them straight to Google on their I-phone. I’d tell them, find the foods you like, get directions, and I’ll give you the number for Uber or Lyft. Zoom call me when you get there, otherwise I’m busy. On a serious note, Kenwood Mall has some nice restaurants. The Food Court always has some good food along with The Cheesecake Factory. Right across the street you have Texas Roadhouse and Outback Steakhouse, 4 lights down heading east.
3 miles heading north you have Win Wok in Blue Ash, OH, one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Out in Fairfield there’s Olive Garden with fantastic garlic bread sticks, steak, and Fettucine Alfredo noodles. Starbucks is just a few miles out west in Springdale. And whichever area my friends wanted to go, there’s pizza restaurants, everywhere.
If they want to catch a good movie, Cinemark in Oakley, Showcase Cinema de Lux Springdale 18, and AMC Theater in West Chester are the go to spots. Lots of nearby restaurants, stores, and gas stations.
If you visit Cincinnati, OH, check out the Cincinnati Museum or what old time locals still call, The Union Terminal. There’s lost of history you could learn about the city from that place along with other exciting things. The best part of all, is the Omnimax. Throughout Cincy you have The Art Museum, Aranoff Center for the Arts, Cincinnati Playhouse In The Park, Eden Park, Great American Ball Park (MLB), Paycor Stadium (NFL), TQL Stadium (Soccer), Heritage Bank Center for boxing, Monster Jam, and wrestling events, Sawyer Point Park for music concerts, and much more.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family, friends, and those who’ve helped me along the way!
