Meet Jeremiah Nealy | Photographer & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah Nealy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremiah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simple. I decided I didn’t want to work for anyone else my entire life. The only way to go, is being my own boss, so I had to think about it. Picking up a camera always came easy to me. It eventually became my passion, so the best option was to turn into a business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always loved to take pictures of people. Capturing moments and turning them into memories, turning visions into works of art. It gives me a purpose. What sets me apart from others is that clients become family. I create long lasting relationships with anyone that steps in front of my camera. It’s important to do so because when you finally take that person’s pictures, it’s not a stranger taking the picture, it’s someone who they now know & trust. That trust & connection shows though your final product. I’ve overcome so many obstacles that are apart of building a business, but what I’m most proud of is that any vision that’s brought to me, I can bring it to life with a little style. When the world sees my art, I want them to automatically know “Spiffy shot this”.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite spots to go in ATL is the battery. The Battery is filled with lots of things to do along with going to see the braves win! Also, because I am from New Orleans, I love to get food from Cafe Bourbon St. It’s a taste from home! I take some time out to creatively shoot at one of my favorite spots, Millennium Gates Museum in downtown Atlanta.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out my father, Raymon Nealy Sr.. Without him, GKS Photography would’ve never happened. When I turned 16 years old, my father surprised me with my first camera, a Canon EOS Rebel t5. He was the first person to believe in & support my dream.
