We had the good fortune of connecting with Jereal Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jereal, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always had an eye and ear for the entertainment industry, and my creativity is one of my strongest traits. When I officially started my creative work and realized how empowered I felt from putting a smile on people’s faces through my content, I knew being a creative was what God called me to do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a graphic designer, music producer, podcaster, photographer/videographer, TikToker, and YouTuber. What sets me apart from others is my passion for creating enjoyable art for others. My own enjoyment of being creative makes things great, but the joy I feel from putting a smile on someone’s face through my art is second to none. My art also serves as my main coping mechanism for my depression and anxiety, so my consistency with my art is what I am most proud of.

I got to where I am today by relying on my inner circle. At first, it wasn’t easy. I have social anxiety and it took a long time to gain the confidence to put myself and my art out there. Thankfully, I’ve been blessed with an amazing supporting cast that gave me ideas, encouraged me, and overall helped instill that confidence. The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey is that the people you surround yourself with you play a major role in who you are and how you operate. I also learned that true success in the creative field stems from a true passion for art.

One key thing to know about my brand: I love to collab with others, and while I may not have the biggest platform to showcase others (yet), my main goal is to start an entertainment company to give more hidden-gem creatives and entertainers the spotlight to shine in the industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friends and I all love food. so there’s plenty of options to choose from. American Deli, Nancy’s Pizza, Yard, House, Tom. Dick, & Hank, Kingston’s Caribbean in Decatur (that oxtail sandwich is 15/10). If it’s late at night, definitely Cookout or Waffle House. A must-do in the city is definitely to just walk around and hang out at Atlantic Station, catching a movie and/or bowling. The Coca-Cola museum is really cool too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I have to give thanks to God, because nothing that I am and nothing that I’ve done would’ve happened without Him. I also want to shoutout my immediate family, my church family, and my closest friends for always supporting me and giving me ideas.
