We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Tipton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In what ways do you POP in your life? Or what ways would you like to? These are the questions that popped in my mind as I began to think of starting my cosmetic line. When thinking about cosmetics, we always look for items that will make us POP- standout or shine. Various cosmetic items makes us feel confident, sophisticated, sexy, classy and beautiful. Sometimes it’s just as simple as mascara or lipgloss and a good liner. I believe that every woman has the ability to POP and POPSTICK was birthed out of that belief. POPSTICK is not just a brand, it’s also a movement. As POPSTICK is worn, I not only want women to walk in their beauty, sexiness and confidence, but I want them to be intentional about POPPIN in their life everyday!!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
By day I’m currently an educator. I educate and shape the minds of 13 – 15 year olds. I love to inspire and empower them to always be their best self and make choices that will set them up to be successful! I transitioned into teaching seven years ago because I had (and have) a strong passion to see this generation excel in life. Out of this passion, I’ve also started a non- profit organization that was geared towards helping teenagers tap into their purpose and creativity. I’m heavy on building strong relationships with my students (and others) because when they know you care it makes learning and teaching easier and the learning environment conducive for growth and success. Over the years this passion has grown beyond the walls of the classroom to include all ages. I want us all to WIN! I truly believe that every woman has the ability to POP (and shine) and POPSTICK was birthed out of that belief. POPSTICK is not just a brand, it’s also a movement. I not only want to inspire people to walk in their uniqueness, beauty, sexiness and confidence, but I want them to be intentional about POPPIN/shining in their life everyday and to WIN in life!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am very grateful for my friend, Nneka Pemberton, who encouraged & pushed me to take my passion and turn it into a business. As a beauty product developer and placement strategist, she guided me as I stepped into the world of entrepreneurship. I’m forever grateful for her! I am also grateful for the examples of entrepreneurship within my family- my sister, a real estate developer; my cousin, an author; and my aunt, who owns a chain of daycares. I often pull from the strength, wisdom, prayers & support of my parents, grandparents & partner. I am very grateful for their encouragement & love! I cannot thank God enough for all of the doors that are opening & His favor!
