We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Franks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Owning my company has opened my eyes to a world of possibilities. It takes vision, determination, and risk to embark on such a journey. However, no matter the highs and lows that come along with being a business owner, the one principle that I hold sacred is integrity-doing the right thing even when no one is watching. From a young age, my dad taught me that it takes years to build a great reputation, but a day to ruin it.

What should our readers know about your business?
Serving Seniors, LLC was created to help families and their loved ones find the best possible solutions when seeking Senior Living Communities. Having 15 years of experience working within these communities, I decided a year ago to launch my own company to better equip families with valuable insight and resources.

Often times, adult children are facing the reality of placing mom or dad into an Assisted Living or Memory Care due to an unforeseen fall or finding their safety is at risk. Our team of Family Support Advocates conduct an extensive discovery process with our clients to ensure we are capturing as much information as possible. We truly want to understand the whole person and not just their diagnosis or challenges. With so many choices these days, Serving Seniors, LLC can quickly identify options that match our clients wants and needs.

What sets our company apart is the amount of time we devote to each client. Since our services are at no cost to our clients, we can spend as much time as necessary ensuring a positive outcome. Not only do we help our clients transition into Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, but we also follow their journey for life. Our unique Ambassadors Club, a team of volunteers meet new Residents during their first week, and then periodically for the duration of their stay.

Bringing awareness to our Industry through Serving Seniors, LLC is much needed in the metr0-Atlanta area. Finding the right fit for our clients is more than simply selecting an apartment in a building but reawakening and revitalizing their next chapter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With the right company, most any place in metr0-Atlanta can be a fun adventure! Kicking off the day with a nice brunch at Bistro Niko in Buckhead, then making our way to Ponce City Market for some retail therapy. A rooftop dinner and a skinny margarita to round out the day. Oh, and a final stop at Mad Life Stage to see my favorite 80’s cover band Electric Avenue!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One of the most influential mentors in my life is Rich DeLong, currently the Senior Director of Experience at SRI Management, LLC. Rich took a chance on me 15 years ago to come on board as the Admissions Director at Magnolia Manor Senior Living Community in Richmond Hill, Georgia. Just 26 years old at the time, I was unaware of the Senior Living Industry and the various levels of care needed for aging adults. It was Rich who taught me the art of listening to the Residents, to see each one as individuals and not simply those who need assistance with their activities of daily living. One of my favorite memories of Rich was watching the way he connected with the Residents. From meaningful conversations to dressing up as Frank Sinatra and singing their favorite songs. Whenever staff needed to find Rich, we all knew the last place to look was in his office as he was never there. Instead, we would often find him cleaning carpets, fixing a Resident’s walker, or serving in the dining room. He would stay late into the evening to complete reports and important emails, but his success was due to his simple rule: Residents first!
