We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeania Pierre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeania, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
What sparked the fuel and ambition in me to launch my cosmetic business, occurred when a young lady made a comment regarding how women of color were unable to wear different shades of lipsticks. This initiated me in making a deal to wear any color lipstick she requested. In addition to that, I encouraged her to vocalize that she is beautiful every time we encountered. Emboldened by our tacit agreement and daily affirmations, I proudly wore bright-colored lipstick every day. I was committed to doing what I had to do to aid in her viewing how beautiful she was in her very own skin. Little did I know while helping her build her confidence, my very own self-esteem was rebirth. From that moment on, I motivated myself to build my own natural lip wear collection and persevered to cater to individuals of all skin tones. Although I build confidence to start, the fear of starting my business placed me on hold. One day while engaging in a conversation with an entrepreneur, she encouraged me to step out on faith and just start small. “It’s better to start your very own brand than living with regrets,” she stated. So, on December of 2019, I took a leap of faith and withdrew money from my savings; I also applied for a second job. I knew immediately these efforts to start my own brand, would be extremely rewarding at the end.
My products are 100% vegan, versatile and filled with intense color that gives your lips full, long-lasting coverage with a smooth finish. I believe “that you are the brand that makes Niajaye’s Lipwear Collection FLAWLESS!” Everyone should want to have healthier, vibrant, and recognizable lips! Most of the time people purchase items based on what they see others wearing. I am proud that I am not one of those individuals. I can confidently say I am wearing my own brand when I am out and about!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I knew immediately these efforts to start my own brand would be extremely rewarding in the end. I have been blessed with being featured in magazines, to being on The Connect Morning Talk Show on the CW Network, as well as being on The Love Jones Show on Excitement Radio, now becoming a Broward Collective Mom Beauty and Fashion Blogger, to having my lipstick collection at Cool Shop. One of my biggest accomplishments aside from my brand Niajaye Cosmetics was having not one but three Beauty and Wellness Expo to empower, while building a community of support for all human, especially women. I have been blessed to have these successful events.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely want to take my best buddy to the Georgia Museum, the Botanical Garden, and the well-known restaurant Milk & Honey if they were in the vicinity. I would take her on a tour bus around the city and to the Trap Music Museum if she was into hip hop. Not to be overlooked are a few shopping centers and nightclubs.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many individuals that I can truly say that I am grateful for and who have supported me throughout my business journey. God is my number one reason why I have planted the seed of starting Niajaye Cosmetics, which is a brand that focuses on lip care and cosmetic products. Which also lead me to having my Annual Beauty and Wellness Expo to inspire others in the community especially women. He has placed amazing individuals in my corner. To start off, my friend Tina the CEO of Fab Body Spa, guided me with the first step and tools that I needed to start. My family, especially my child, mom, king, brothers, and sisters that have been my #1 fans from the moment I told them about Niajaye Cosmetics. Shoutout to Miss WenMUA that truly supports my brand and uses my lipstick on her clients when she does their makeup. I also have the most amazing friends that have been and continues to be in my corner. I was blessed with the opportunity of meeting LaShawnna Stanely at the start of the pandemic. She helped give me that drive and push that I needed with words of encouragement. I’m also blessed with mentorship from Johanne Wilson who owns Cool Creative Inc. She has taught me different sorts of ways to operate and promote my business with better marketing skills and services. Let us not forget my followers that have been so supportive from day one. Especially those out there that are rocking Niajaye’s Lip Collections on their lips. I always remind my supporters that they are the brand that makes Niajaye Cosmetics flawless. And I THANK YOU to ALL MY SUPPORTERS!!!!!
