Meet Jazlyn Bailey | Entrapreneur & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazlyn Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazlyn, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk is probably my favorite thing to do . As a creative it’s a full time job betting on yourself. I remind myself and my circle of that always. Taking risk has put me into position to be confident that I can do anything I put my mind to. Taking risk has made those uncomfortable conversations and spaces of my creativity comfortable for me. I didn’t know the first thing about being a business owner when I first started. I was simply a 19 year old girl with some money in her savings , an idea , and her cellphone. If I never took that risk I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am today.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner and founder of Entrapreneur Playground. Your favorite business playground. We bring all things business and fun together. We help side hustles turn into small businesses with the hopes that someday they become those big businesses. We offer a series of services and events to connect black business owners and creatives together . We show you the ugly parts of entrepreneurship that people often don’t like to talk about. What sets me apart from others is my creativity and willingness to have those uncomfortable conversations. My story wasn’t easy. My story hasn’t been pretty . I went through a lot that I realized I didn’t want others to have to learn the way I did. That’s why I formed EnTrapreneur Playground. Founded and created with the love and my appreciation for Trap music.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Being a creative or business owner doesn’t just affect you but also the people who care about you too. You could be working to change everyone around you’s life . Not many may understand the road you take on as a creative. Luckily for me I do have a set of people that have made sure I haven’t had to take those smooth roads and bumpy ones alone. First and foremost I would love to recognize my parents. My mother does anything to see me happy, proud, and at ease in any of my decisions even if she doesn’t always agree with them . She’s there for all of the good moments like this article here. But she’s also there when things may spin out of control for me. She’s given me the space and opportunity to follow my dreams and do whatever that may be with all support behind me. I couldn’t thank her enough for that kind of love and support in me. My father. My guardian angel guides me through every single decision or thing I want in my life . Our love truly transcends dimensions and I know I shine bright because I have the best angel on my shoulder always . I have a host of other friends and mentors to thank for being on my journey. But, I have one in particular to highlight. Robyn. You went from my first customer to my sister. I am so grateful of your support in every aspect of my life .
