We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayson Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jayson, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Being in the fitness industry impacts the community on a multitude of levels. We are a 24 hour facility that gives the community something to do at all (from 13) ages. We offer many levels of training (athletic, weight loss, strength building, weight maintenance) which in n the end help with self empowerment. We have senior classes, (silver sneakers) daily which gives the “advanced” population health and fitness as well as a social aspect for them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Here at Zoo health club we pride ourselves in services, and being destination fitness center, all while maintaining the “neighborhood” gym feel.I would say I am most proud of the impact I have had on young athletes who I have helped get to the college (22 currently on division 1 teams) and even into the pros. Also helping people with prior ailments mend and regain their quality of life. I Studied as much as I could to learn as many forms of functional methods of training to allow people to fulfill their full potential be it athletically, or just daily. Along the way I have learned that being in the position to influence so many people live with a simple mantra “ALWAYS BE INTENTIONAL GOING ABOUT REACHING YOUR GOALS!!! Between your goal and your dream lies HARD WORK AND CONSISTENCY!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is an amazing melting pot of life. There is so much to do from the beltline, to the historical venues with the rich history from the MLK, to the AUC, to the war battlefields, to little 5 points, and all the amazing eateries. It would definitly be a packed day, then all the places for nightlife downtown.
