We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayresa Sass and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jayresa, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Crochepeutic is the deep connection between crochet and mental wellness. My journey started as a way to heal from seasonal depression, and I quickly realized that crochet is more than just a craft—it’s a therapeutic outlet that brings peace, creativity, and even community. That passion fuels everything I do, from hosting workshops and networking events to coaching other crochet artists on building their businesses.

Beyond the craft itself, community and empowerment are at the heart of Crochepeutic. I’ve built a space where crochet artists at all levels feel supported, whether through in-person events, digital resources, or my motivational social media posts. Seeing others find joy, healing, and financial success through crochet keeps me motivated to grow and serve.

Lastly, consistency and adaptability have played a huge role. From sharing content that resonates with my crochet besties to continuously learning and evolving, I’ve embraced both the creative and business sides of this journey. My success is a reflection of the love I pour into this craft and the people I serve.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Crochepeutic is more than just a crochet business—it’s a movement that highlights the therapeutic power of crochet while empowering artists to turn their passion into profit. What sets me apart is the way I merge creativity, mental wellness, and entrepreneurship. I don’t just teach crochet techniques; I create spaces where people can heal, connect, and thrive through this craft.

I’m most proud of the community I’ve built—crochet besties from all over who support, inspire, and uplift one another. Whether it’s through my workshops, coaching, events, or motivational messages, my goal is to show that crochet isn’t just a hobby—it’s a tool for transformation.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. I started crocheting again as a way to cope with depression, and at first, I had no idea it would turn into a business. There were moments of doubt, financial struggles, and the challenge of balancing entrepreneurship with motherhood. But I kept going because I knew this was bigger than me. I overcame challenges by investing in personal development through Landmark Education, pushing myself with strategies from books like The 12 Week Year and The Artist’s Way, and surrounding myself with a community of like-minded entrepreneurs.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that your gift can change lives—but only if you share it. Too often, we hold back out of fear or self-doubt, but I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is to step into your purpose. Now, I help other crochet artists do the same by showing them how to monetize their craft and build a brand that aligns with their values.

At the heart of Crochepeutic is a message: Creativity heals. Community matters. And your passion can provide more than just joy—it can create opportunity. I want the world to know that crochet isn’t just about making things with yarn; it’s about making an impact, one stitch at a time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love, support, and encouragement of so many incredible people and influences in my life. First and foremost, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my children—they are my biggest motivation and the reason I push forward every day, turning my passion into a thriving business.

I also want to recognize the crochet community—my crochet besties who have supported, encouraged, and inspired me along this journey. Seeing others find healing, creativity, and even financial independence through crochet reminds me why I started Crochepeutic in the first place.

A huge thank you to my mentors, business coaches, and fellow entrepreneurs who have guided me along the way. Their wisdom and encouragement have helped me refine my vision, overcome challenges, and continue to grow. I also want to acknowledge the powerful personal development I’ve gained from Landmark Education—the training and insights I’ve received have been transformational in how I approach business, leadership, and life.

Books have also played a huge role in shaping my mindset and success. The 12 Week Year has helped me stay focused and achieve more in less time, while The Artist’s Way has been instrumental in reconnecting me with my creativity and purpose. Alongside other great reads like The 4-Hour Workweek and Atomic Habits, these books have provided me with the strategies and inspiration to build Crochepeutic into what it is today.

I am beyond grateful for everyone who has played a role in my journey, and I hope to continue paying it forward by empowering other crochet artists to pursue their passions and create the life they dream of.
