We had the good fortune of connecting with Jayla White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jayla, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When you’re starting a business risk is something that comes along with it. That’s the first thing everyone who is trying to build a business need to realize. you can’t get to where you are going without taking a risk. I knew I wanted more out of my life. I was in school and working and work was conflicting with my business. it was either my 9-5 where I was making $9 an hour vs my business where I was making over $150 an hour. I had to choose me and trust in God to provide, because it wasn’t worth the $9 an hour. Deep down inside I knew it was meant for me to start my own business I didn’t have anything else I wanted to do or anything else I loved as much as I love more than my business. Some risk may be good and some risk may be bad but you can’t be successful unless you do what makes you happy. Learning to take a chance on me was the best thing I’ve ever done and I would do it over and over again.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So my art is a little different. My art reflects me in a way. I have to be able to connect to what I’m photographing in order to take the picture or video the music. A lot of learning got me to where I am, understanding composition and it was not easy at all I’m still learning as of today. overcoming the challenges of bringing something new. I’m from the Southside so I had to kind of do a lot of free work in order for them to see its another side to photography other than the basic. Some of the things that I had to learn was my price is my price and nothing will change that, and that was something I had to learn to stick by. My brand guarantees quality, we don’t do nothing but excellence, we are professional and we don’t take your content lightly we treat it as our own.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A person I would like to shoutout first is God because I would never be a creative unless he created me and showed me how to be a creative. Next, would be my mother, my mother has been my rock in all of this. I’m a young business owner and not really having a lot of people in field to look up to so its like a pioneer kind of journey. So my mother is my shoutout she is a third of the reason I am doing what I am doing.
