We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Allure and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay Allure, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important thing that I’ve learned as an artist is that although it’s fine to strive for more, it’s more important to be grateful for where you are. Every fan, every stream, every positive word, every great show…it all matters. Once you’re able to practice gratefulness often, it makes the journey so much sweeter!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’d like to say what sets me apart as an artist is my versatility. I feel like I’m able to appeal to a lot of different types of people. I’m most excited about the current project I’m working on called Aries. I’ll be releasing in on May 18th and I’m very excited to shared this with the world. I had more fun on this project than I’ve ever had before. I think that’s because I’ve grown and changed a lot over the years so this feels like a reintroduction.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend in town I would absolutely take them to brunch at either BQE or The Hive. For a fun afternoon, we would go to Skyline then head to Blue for the evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to everyone! If you’ve listened to a song, shared my music, liked a post or left a comment shout out to you! Thank you for your ongoing support.
