We had the good fortune of connecting with Javarie Lacey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Javarie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is 3 key factors which are faith, obedience, and perseverance. With those 3 factors, I’m able to gain success. God gave me this idea, so I trust and believe in the vision. That’s where the “faith” comes in. Plus I feel as if I’m being obedient to my purpose here on earth. I’m doing something I love, spreading positive messages, also providing for my family. So, with that being said, I see it as being obedient in a way. Perseverance played a big part in my success, the urge to never giving up even without any results. I felt like God was testing me before he blessed me, but I remained consistent and results came later. But overall those are the 3 main important factors in my success. I’m just following God’s plan and reaping the blessings & success along the way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art paints pictures of stories in the bible, books, and in life. Every drawing is drawn by me so it means a lot to me. I put so much thought and effort into every design. So, you can see the message in the art. I’m excited to see the people’s reactions to the art when I present it and how the messages are received. How I got to where I am professionally today, took long days & nights of perfecting my craft and studying business. It was not easy at all, I had many sleepless nights and put in hours to get where I am today. I overcame every obstacle by asking God for strength and staying dedicated to my assignments. I knew what I wanted and I know what I had to do to get it. The biggest lesson learned is to believe in yourself always, doubt is a dream & success killer. Fear & doubt once you learn to overcome those you’ll become great. I want the world to discover that God Is My Plug. Not only my plug but yours as well. God can provide you with things no man or woman can on this Earth and does. Things we may overlook on a daily but, He is the Ultimate Plug (Provider).

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Savannah, Ga is known for the food and its historic downtown area. There are many good eats, but some of my favorites I would take a visiting friend are Madame Butterfly, Troy’s Mediterranean, and Miyabi Steak House. The downtown area offers many historical sites to see also offers tours of the city. You can take a walk down River St. and view the beautiful waterfront. Or make your way to Tybee Island, the beach offered off the coast of Savannah. They offer hangout spots such as lounges, rooftop bars, and nightclubs. So there would be a week of fun, sites to see, and food to eat.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to say thank you to all of my supporters, mentors, and anyone who has played an impact on my life journey. I want to say a special thank you to my mom because she pushed me along the way. Days I wanted to give up or wasn’t myself, she encouraged me a lot. That there got me to where I am today.
