We had the good fortune of connecting with Javani Austin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Javani, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most crucial factor behind the success of my brand has been personal growth and confidence. As I have developed as a person, so has my brand. As I pour into myself spiritually, ancestrally, mentally, emotionally, and physically, I have seen harvest come forth in my brand and business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I create to express myself, but the form is never limited. I have a thought-provoking podcast that just launched in October 2021, but I have been speaking on spirituality and liberation on Youtube since 2017. I have been modeling since 2018, showcasing the beauty of black, plus-sized, sexually liberated women. I craft handmade herbal intention oils, crystal-infused oils, and holistic and energetic healing remedies. My purpose is to create, inspire and love unconditionally. Knowing that has made overcoming challenges easier because I stay focused on my purpose, not how others perceive it. Getting to where I am now hasn’t been easy. It has taken a lot of perseverance and passion. I spent my early 20s pouring all my energy and life force into the businesses of others as a worker. And I always noticed how much people always complimented my work ethic. After turning 25, something I never thought would happen because of all the trauma and stress in my life, I decided to go all-in on my passions. I have learned to believe in myself, first and foremost. Secondly, beautify your “garden” before comparing it to others. I want the world to know that Queen Vanii is just getting started. May you be inspired to heal and create.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would show my friends the best time in Atlanta by taking them to places that are filled with creativity and culture. First, we’d hit The Circle, a weekly event on Tuesdays at Delowe Loft. This event showcases some of Atlanta’s best talents and growing businesses. For dessert and coffee, we’ll go to Kupcakerie. They have the best cupcakes on the southside. Before they leave, I’ll be sure to take them to must-see botanicas like Yeye’s and Honey Pot for crystal shopping. Atlanta has rich restaurant culture and multiple black-owned eateries, so we’ll also dine at The Corner Grille in College Park and Tassili’s Raw Reality Cafe in the West End.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to express profound gratitude to my support system and community. Thank you to every photographer, model, and designer I have ever collaborated with. Thank you to my lifelong best friend, Jasmine Jones, for being everything a friend could ever ask for from day one. Thank you to my creative Libra other half, Rain Chapman, for always being down to create ANYTHING with me. BIGGEST THANKS to my family, living and dead, for how they love, support, guide, and inspire me.
