We had the good fortune of connecting with Jateya Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jateya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

I started Jateya Jones Consulting, a boutique consulting firm to empower visionaries with clarity.  I understand the importance for entrepreneurs to work cross-functionally when seeking to set goals; execute initiatives; as well as improve, standardized and streamline processes — helping their organizations run effectively and efficiently.

However, as a serial entrepreneur and fellow multi-passionate, I also have a heart to help multi-passioinate entrepreneurs get CLEAR on what you do; not how you make your money.  The truth is, once you know what you do, you can make money doing you!

Most multi-passionates have been told that they are all over the place. The truth is, each of their passions share a common thread and many are just on a journey to find that thread within their unique fabric.

As a Strategy and Communication consultant, I help multi-passionate entrepreneurs identify the common thread of what they do, streamline and create an Income Ecosystem of the many ways they desire to show up, and concisely communicate with clarity.

Prior to obtaining clarity I was frustrated with not being able to concisely explain my vision to others without sounding all over the place, discouraged and isolated by not having a community that understood me, as well as, struggling with burnout due to not being able to transition my passion into a revenue generating business.

For years I thought I enjoyed doing lots of different things. However, one day I realized I actually do one thing in my personal and professional life. This awareness led me to test out my method on others. The rest is history! I have since helped hundreds of multi-passionate entrepreneurs identify that one thing they do so they can make money doing what they naturally do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m most known for clarity coaching.  However, most people hear Clarity Coach and think more so executive or career coaching. However, I specifically consult multi-passionate entrepreneurs on identifying the common thread of what they do, so they can do what they naturally do in whatever way they desire.  Most outlets just give multi-passionates permission to be ok with loving to do lots of different things.  My philosophy is once you know what you do, you can make money doing you!    

Being a multi-passionate person, I understand our thought process. I desire to provided a nonjudgmental safe space for others to share their visions; while also equipping them with the tools and techniques to communicate with clarity.

I believe that clarity is power and once you have it, you’ll find success not only in business, but life.

What you are most proud of or excited about?
I am most proud of my global reach. I have been able to coach amazing individuals located on six of the seven continents. As well as, I recently released my Plan to W.I.N. Clarity Planner! It’s designed to help my clients successfully accomplish any goal with ease.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise?
Showing up and helping. I always ask if I can’t help, do I know someone who can? Mainly because I feel, good people should know good people. This has led to some amazing clients, contracts, and created community of like heart and mind.

Was it easy?
No, not at all. Figuring life out without knowing where to start, lacking guidance because no one truly understands you, and not having the skillset to articulate your vision, lends to a bittersweet journey.

For most, multipassionates you fill misunderstood and forced to focus on one thing, compounding your feelings of confusion and despair. For many of us, we know we are destined for more, we just can’t quite put our finger on it. It doesn’t help that many people perceive us to lack commitment and focus. Therefore, we’re left feeling alone, discouraged, and consistently trying to believe in ourselves, because most don’t.

Doing what you are naturally gifted to do, is hard to identify; nevertheless, create a process to duplicate it in a business sense. It took decades of lessons learned and unlearning to get the courage to step out into an untraditional niche of coaching and overcoming the shame of having a different perspective than most. Once I was clear on what I do, I gained the confidence and courage to go against the grain and encourage other multi-passionates to accept that they are only gifted in one thing, just express it in a million different ways.

If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?

Trust your gut! It’s ok to not fit in. Not blending in makes it easier for your tribe to find you. There are people who get it…they just may not be in your area code and or zip code. That’s what makes social media so amazing! Also, clarity comes in the doing. God’s timing is better than anything we could control and or imagine. So your next step is always your best step!

Freedom from negative generational cycles; allowing more than themselves to course correct and transition from surviving to thriving.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Start in my hometown of Athens, Ga! Do a little shopping downtown.
Find our way to the Hybar on top of the Hyatt to grab some great bites and drinks.
For dinner we would go to Agua Linda for one of the BEST chimichangas ever!

The next day we would make our way to Atlanta and visit a few of my favort spots like:
