Meet Jason Palmer | Videographer and Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Palmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up videography was one of my first passions. I was gifted a camcorder at the age of 7 and it played a huge role in the development of my craft. I always knew I wanted to have a career in film but as I got older I drifted away from the idea. After high school and a year of college I found myself wondering which direction was I gonna take my life next. That’s when I decided to finally take those steps toward following my original dream.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My business Million Mark Media was birthed from my passion for film and videography. I’ve come this far from pure risking taking and trial and error. My business has a long way to go but regardless of the rough terrain I’m happy and grateful to be doing what I love.
I’ve faced many challenges building my business and developing as a overall creative. Bettering myself as an individual has motivated me to push my business and my skill to the next level.
Some key lessons I’ve learned along my journey are preparation is key. Preparing yourself for the task ahead of you will put you in position to win. Understanding what has to be done and how to accomplish your task before approaching it will save you time and energy. Another important lesson I’ve learned is people make mistakes and things happen. No one is perfect and life will throw curveballs your way when you least expect it. Knowing this will allow you to push through those unforeseen challenges.
God willing my story is far from over. I want the world to know me as a passionate creative who produces beautiful stories and experiences through cinematography.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite places to frequent are the beach, parks, walking trails and anywhere you can take in the sunlight on a nice day. With a great people, good food and scenery is all you need. My son and I also love a good beach and bike rental. Riding through the bike trails along a beautiful beach Is perfect for me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my mother Audrey Palmer. Someone who has always supported me. She has been an anchor in my life, In any situation, at anytime or for any reason, I know she’ll be there. Thanks Ma.
