We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmyn Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmyn, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from a small town, Suffolk, Virginia. My family moved to Charlotte when I was a young child. I attended a performing arts school in Charlotte from the 6-12th grade. Being immersed in a creative space during my formative years into adulthood had a major impact on my life. Never thought when my mom took me to audition for the school, me being accepted and then later graduating high school from an arts school was possible. My family taught me I could be anything I wanted to be and I would be full supported in the decisions I made. They always made that clear, which I’m so thankful for. I traveled every summer with family and was exposed to different cultures and different ways of living. This led and inspired me a lot within my upbringing. In school I learned and was involved in every art medium as well. Dance, Theatre, Photography, Fashion Merchandise, Chorus and Art. This has contributed to a huge part of my creative journey in adulthood.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The most important factor and what sets me apart from others is is the quality of my work, the intentionality, the integrity and the authenticity of my work to the people. I value these concepts because as a person these are the characteristics I hold dear to me and this reflects within the success of my brand, always. Im truly proud of the dedication and time I’ve invested into my work on a professional level. Some lessons along the way that I have learned is that passion has to be within yourself to keep creating new and innovative art. You have to study and practice to become better. You learn something new everyday. So dedicating that time to develop your skill set always takes work. The world should know that passion has led me here. Passion for creating beautiful things. Passion for storytelling. Passion for a high level as craftsmanship. When your mind reaches a level that is beyond things that you can’t comprehend it’s the next level of creation and how you view the world. To me that level can only be described through an artistic catalyst, which is shown through my brand, Jazart Studio.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have an amazing support group within my family. My mother, dad and little sister mean the world to me. I have a great supporting team through the community at beSocial CLT that id like to think. Also encouragement through my loved ones and close friends all should be recognized for the the constant love and support.
