We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Twine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is one of my own.

“You play the game against yourself, and you win at all costs.” -ButterflyJT

This quote verbalizes that anything you take on in life, whether a new business venture, school, or personal goals, you have to do it for yourself. Do it because you love it because it is your passion, not because of society, your family, peers, or anything stopping you from going after your dreams. The negative thoughts will come; replace them with positive ones. The doubt will come; replace them with the successes you’ve already had, no matter how small. The failures will come; learn from them and understand that failure is a stepping stone. Do not do it for anyone else, do it for yourself; you versus you.

What should our readers know about your business?

It has not been a smooth road for me, but I am grateful for my struggles. In December 2011, I acquired a traumatic brain injury. The after-effects of brain surgery to remove a colloid cyst from the center of my brain changed my life, and it took years for me to adjust, but with the help of my therapists, family, and self-discipline, I’ve been coming along well. Things that help me get through my low moments are motivational videos, talking to my therapist, meditation, volunteering, and journaling.

Any client that ButterflyJT Designs acquire will have a personalized customer experience. We are hands-on with each client and make sure they are satisfied with any order placed. Our prices are affordable, and we offer design advice to bring our client’s vision to life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the Little Five Points area to be inspired by the art community. We would feed our minds and bodies healthy food from Sevananda Natural Foods Market. Catching a show at 7 Stages Theatre is a must! Other places we’d visit: Black Wall Street Market, The Village at PCM, 44th & 3rd Bookseller, The Honey Pot, and The Tree House, a hidden bar in Buckhead.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family deserves the credit; they have been there through every surgery, every hospitalization, and every rehabilitation period. I am grateful for them, and I am forever indebted. Next, my mentors have provided me with leadership and support throughout my journey. Last, I would like to thank the veteran community and the different organizations that have built the bridge to build a family outside of my immediate family.
