We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Ti’ara and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Through constant prayer and growing my relationship with the Lord. I have been able to cling tight to things that he has confirmed for me even on days that it seems unattainable or when it seems like I shouldn’t pursue. I believe that his confirmation is for the days that we want to give up most. But, I know when I no longer should pursue anything based on confusion, roadblocks, and if its anything that I would have to to be something or someone I am not to have it. This is the perfect example, I don’t have a ton of followers or a huge brand but i’m being interviewed for a magazine, I wouldn’t have been able to think that this was attainable for me at this stage but God qualifies the called and I am overjoyed. So this was my go ahead to keep going.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So, aside from content I have a Bachelor’s Degree from THEEEEEEE Norfolk State University and a Masters’ in I/O Psychology from The Chicago School of professional Psychology. I work in consulting and I love what I do but I know that there is so much more to for me to do, more of an impact to make and that is where content comes in. it’s not easy by far juggling and full-time job and content creation… not to mention I have a part-time as well. so my schedule is hectic but I have goals and dreams, and the only way to see the fruits of my labor is to put in the work now. I overcome the challenges by allowing myself to feel, when I’m tired I rest, when I’m sad I cry, when I’m happy enjoy myself. listen to your body but don’t stay there for long, there is work to be done!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting I don’t think a week would be enough to take her to all of the places that I would love for her to see. But, we would definitely get breakfast at Atlanta Breakfast club, a walk on the beltine is a must, the best happy hour in the city in my opinion is SeaSalt Restaurant and Teranga city so we would stop there for good eats. Going to the battery is a must, there is so much to see and do in one area and I love that! We would definitely end the weekend at 2819 church, if we can get in lol.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In addition to God, my family and friends keep me pushing on most days. They see more potential in me than I do in myself, they believe in me so much they send me ideas or give me opportunities that would help me get to where I need to be. I was told once, “you go after everything that you want.” While that statement was true, I think I go for everything because I know that I have some prayer warriors and some people who want to see me win behind me. I don’t think I could do it with them. I’m also extremely thankful to the people that engage with my post and videos, it means the world to me.
