We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Simone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

As a child, I was obsessed with music, film, and television. I’d spend hours in my bedroom watching the same movie or television show over and over again. I initially thought I wanted to be an actress, but I realized my talents were best served in other areas.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Starting J.SimoneMedia was a labor of love. Initially the platform was created as a personal outlet for me to share my thoughts on the entertainment industry. 3 years later, my passion project has become a brand with a large following. It’s still hard for me to believe I created this. The thing I appreciate most is the positive feedback and praise I receive from the entertainers I write about. It lets me know to keep going because I’m on the right track.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

My best friend and I love food and fashion. So we’d probably spend the day shopping at Lenox mall then head to dinner at Dantanna’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I’m grateful to have the love and support of close friends and family. I’m most thankful to my parents who always have my back! Entrepreneurship is a hard road and I wouldn’t have been able to keep going without the encouragement of those who love me.
