We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Beck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk-taking has been a constant in my life and career—it’s what has allowed me to grow, evolve, and build multiple businesses. I don’t see risk as something to fear but as a necessary step toward opportunity.

Starting a food truck, for example, was a huge leap. Leaving the restaurant industry to create something of my own came with financial and logistical uncertainties, but I believed in my vision. That risk paid off, and Sunshine Alchemy has been thriving for over seven years.

Real estate is another arena where calculated risks are key. Investing in properties, guiding clients through high-stakes decisions, and adapting to market shifts all require a balance of boldness and strategy. As an agent on the All Points Team with Epique Realty, I have the advantage of being backed by an expert team, even though I’m newer to the industry. That support allows me to take strategic risks, knowing I have experienced professionals to learn from and collaborate with.

Even with cat breeding, there’s an element of risk—investing time, energy, and resources into something that requires deep commitment and care. But for me, this one is deeply personal. I’ve been allergic to cats my whole life, so I never thought I could truly enjoy them until I discovered Siberians, a hypoallergenic breed. Being able to finally have cats of my own was life-changing, and now, I’m passionate about sharing them with others who thought they could never have a cat.

At the end of the day, I welcome risk because it pushes me forward. The key is to take risks with preparation, knowledge, and the willingness to adapt—because that’s where the real growth happens.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My journey as an entrepreneur has been anything but conventional, but that’s exactly what sets me apart. Under the tagline “Catering, Keys, and Kittens,” I’ve built three businesses that reflect my passions and my commitment to service: Sunshine Alchemy, my food truck and catering business; Coral Castle Cattery, where I breed hypoallergenic Siberian cats; and my work as a real estate agent helping people find their perfect homes.

Each of these businesses comes from a place of deep personal passion. Sunshine Alchemy started as a way to bring creative, plant-based cuisine to Atlanta. What sets us apart is our dedication to quality, sustainability, and crafting food that surprises and delights. I make all of our sauces and beverages in-house, using only the finest ingredients to ensure every dish is fresh and flavorful. We’ve been operating for over seven years, and I’m proud of the brand we’ve built in the city. It hasn’t always been easy—running a food truck means constantly adapting to challenges, from mechanical breakdowns to unpredictable events—but resilience and creativity have kept us thriving.

Coral Castle Cattery is especially close to my heart. I’ve been allergic to cats my entire life, and I never thought I’d be able to have them—until I discovered the Siberian breed, which is hypoallergenic. Being able to finally enjoy cats was life-changing, and now, I love sharing that experience with others who thought they’d never be able to have a cat of their own. I breed ethically and responsibly alongside my mother, Dr. Susan Vezeau, to ensure our kittens go to loving homes.

And then there’s real estate—my newest but equally fulfilling venture. Joining the All Points Team with Epique Realty has given me an incredible foundation of expertise, even as a newer agent. My background in hospitality and business ownership gives me a unique perspective; I approach real estate with the same service-oriented mindset, ensuring my clients feel supported through every step of buying or selling a home. I love helping people find the perfect space to build their future, whether it’s their dream home or an investment property.

Getting to where I am today has been full of challenges, from starting businesses from scratch to navigating major life hurdles (like undergoing spine surgery while running a food truck!). But I’ve learned that perseverance, adaptability, and a genuine love for what you do can get you through anything. I want the world to know that my story is about taking risks, following passions, and creating businesses that truly bring value to others.

Whether you’re looking for catering, keys, or kittens, I’m here to help!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Arrival & Classic Atlanta Eats
• Kick off the trip with a welcome brunch at Buttermilk Kitchen—a cozy spot known for its scratch-made Southern comfort food.
• Spend the afternoon exploring Ponce City Market, where we’d browse the local shops, grab a rooftop drink at 9 Mile Station, and take a CorePower Yoga class. Yoga is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I love sharing my practice with friends. The energy at this studio is always uplifting!
• For dinner, we’d go for incredible sushi at Umi, known for its top-tier rolls and sleek atmosphere.
• End the night with live jazz at The Velvet Note—an intimate club perfect for music lovers.

Day 2: Iconic Atlanta & Music Night
• Start the day at the Georgia Aquarium, one of the best in the world. The whale sharks are a must-see!
• Head to Krog Street Market for lunch—maybe something fresh and flavorful from Argosy or a plant-based meal at Planta in Buckhead.
• Check out the Atlanta BeltLine on bikes or by foot, stopping for drinks at a cool brewery like New Realm Brewing.
• At night, we’d catch Ethel Shotter’s residency at the Epicurean Hotel in Midtown. Katy Shotter’s voice and piano skills, combined with Bryant Laursen’s rapping, saxophone, and DJ talent, make for an electrifying show.

Day 3: Outdoor Adventure & Relaxing at Coral Castle
• Take a morning hike up Stone Mountain for breathtaking views of the city.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch at Piedmont Park, maybe with some Sunshine Alchemy food truck treats.
• Spend the afternoon at Coral Castle, my beautiful home and cattery, enjoying time with our incredible Siberian cats and kittens. This is such a personal passion of mine, and I love sharing these hypoallergenic cats with friends who might never have been able to enjoy cats before.
• Evening CorePower Yoga session to unwind and recharge.
• Wrap up the night at Kimball House for some of the best craft cocktails in town.

Day 4: North Georgia Escape – Helen & Wineries
• Head to Helen, GA, a charming Bavarian-style town. Tube down the Chattahoochee River or explore the quirky shops.

• Dinner at The Deer and The Dove in Decatur before heading back to the city.

Day 5: Poolside Relaxation & Culture
• Start the morning with CorePower Yoga to reset before a full day of exploring.
• Spend the afternoon at the Epicurean Hotel pool, where Ethel Shotter performs every Saturday during the summer. It’s the perfect way to soak up the sun, sip a cocktail, and enjoy their incredible live music.

• Dinner at Ticonderoga Club—a hidden gem inside Krog Street Market.

Day 6: Foodie Finale & Rooftop Views

• Visit the Trap Music Museum for a unique look at Atlanta’s hip-hop culture.
• Dinner at Lazy Betty, where every dish is a work of art.
• End the trip with cocktails at SkyLounge, taking in the city lights one last time.

This version perfectly balances food, live music, relaxation, nature, yoga, and time at Coral Castle, making for an unforgettable Atlanta experience!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been fortunate to have incredible people by my side throughout my journey, and my success is deeply rooted in their support, mentorship, and love.

First, I have to shout out The Indigo Road hospitality group out of Charleston, South Carolina. My time with them, particularly as a creator and operating partner of The Cocktail Club, shaped my foundation in hospitality and entrepreneurship. The experience I gained there set me on the path to building my own business.

My mother, Dr. Susan Vezeau, has also played a huge role in my journey. We partner together in breeding Siberian cats at Coral Castle Cattery, which is something deeply personal to me. Her dedication and shared passion have made this venture not just a business, but something truly special.

Then there’s my best friend, Katy Shotter. She’s an amazing musician and creator, and she’s been by my side through all eight years of running Sunshine Alchemy. Entrepreneurship can be a rollercoaster, and having a best friend who understands creativity, business, and perseverance has been invaluable.

I also have to recognize my partner, Benjamin Duffton. He’s been my rock for over four years and partners with me on the food truck. His support has been unwavering, especially when I had to undergo spine surgery in 2022. Running a business while facing a major health challenge was tough, but he stepped up in every way possible to help keep things moving forward.

Success is never a solo journey, and I’m endlessly grateful for the people who have helped me along the way.
