We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmin Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmin, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Doubling down on myself has been a huge contribution to my success. Entrepreneurship is hard, I’ve experienced many L’s that at times it bruised my spirit. I had to have a serious talk with myself, and say no one is making you do this, so if I’m going to continue pursuing a journey in entrepreneurship I have to believe in myself at a level beyond what I’ve known to exist. I bet on myself every time, I believe in my abilities, and every L that I seen as a failure have been lessons that I’ve learned from. Hardships and scary moments still exist, and I continuously remind myself that I am more than capable to handle all of it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most excited about the next “something” I’ll create. Any creative knows the feeling of a design, a melody, or a idea coming to life it can’t be matched. I believe it feels so good because of how hard the process is. In the process I’m perfecting my skills, learning new concepts, adapting to uncomfortable situations. So I’ve learned there is always another level of self that I can tap into, apply pressure and explore. My clothing line name, One Lion Hundred Sheep itself is a mantra meaning the good and the bad in us will always follow, so utilize them all to lead yourself in your purpose. A lot of us need daily reminders that we possess the strength and abilities to overcome obstacles, and we are not perfect but thats the beauty in each of us being one of one.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m originally from Queens, NY but here in Philadelphia I would start with downtown Center City, there are dope statues, street art and murals spread throughout the city and leads into neighborhoods such as North And south Philly and their seen on the sides of row homes, almost feels like their hidden so it’s dope to find them. For a night out, probably any bar my friend is bar tendering at or Saint’s. Definitely would take them to Pizza Shackamaxon, which is one of my favorite pizza spots. To end the trip probably have dinner at my mother’s, all my friends love her food, it always good vibes and wine lol.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have family and friends that definitely supports me wether it’s them sharing posts, purchasing items, or even traveling with me for vendor shows which I appreciate beyond measure. My mother has been my biggest and loudest cheerleader, in moments when I considered quitting she’ll tell me “let’s talk about it tomorrow” because she knows I just need the time to think. She has even helped me in a clutch with purchasing inventory, so I didn’t miss opportunities. Now she calls herself my “silent partner” and I smirk every time. Mother or not to have someone be proud of you and believe in what you’re doing with the only incentive for them is seeing you win is a level of support that can’t go unnoticed.
