Meet Jarvis Blake | Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarvis Blake and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jarvis, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is three things. 1, To be happy with my life and everything that I have contributed to it. 2, to give back as much as I possibly can to not only help those who may need but to help improve the quality of life provided to them. Lastly, 3, to build something that not only I am proud off but something my kids and more generations to come can benefit from as well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel what sets me apart from others is that I could care less for the recognition. Oftentimes as a ghostwriter, the question comes up as “how do you want your name printed on the books that you write?” and I have to tell them, its their moment and their book, all of my clients sign NDAs for me to be able to write for them. That’s the best part of being a ghostwriter, seeing your work out there getting press and praise. So in getting here, I just had to be the best that I could be. My grandma taught me that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to things that are as unique to them as they are to me. Atlanta is so full of great opportunities, food, culture, and life that it honestly would be difficult to choose.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
People in my life that deserves the recognition would have to be the various teachers that I have had growing up. I wouldn’t be nearly as far as where I am as a writer.
